The iconic British guitar amplifier and speaker brand Marshall has expanded its party-focused speaker lineup with the Bromley 150, a portable Bluetooth speaker designed to deliver high-volume sound and live-venue visuals in a cabinet that looks like a small practice amp and is smaller than Marshall’s other party speakers.

With a smaller footprint than its larger siblings, the new Bromley 150 speaker has a control panel on the side of the cabinet so that the entire front of the speaker is reserved for the drivers and dynamic stage lighting.

“Bromley 150 delivers the same exceptional performance and craftsmanship as the Bromley 450 and 750 in a more compact form. By repositioning the control panel to the side while retaining the tactile controls users love, we’ve freed up the entire front panel for what matters most: powerful sound and immersive stage lighting,” says Emma Rydahl, senior industrial designer for the Marshall Group.

The outer shell of the Bromley 150 is made using FSC-certified wood, which is then wrapped in PU leather and fitted with soft TPU corner caps. The speaker has an IP55 rating against dust, dirt and splashes, making it suitable for pool parties or for use around a campfire.

To carry the Bromley 150 around more easily, there’s a built-in handle that retracts flush into the top of the cabinet. This means multiple Bromley 150 units can be stacked neatly, a bit like guitar amplifier cabinets. To ensure the speaker has a long and useful life, Marshall makes modular parts like the handle, grille, knobs, corner caps and battery are easily replaced. Marshall has designed the Bromley 150 for the long haul.

The Bromley 150 features Marshall’s True Stereophonic 360° acoustic design. The speaker has front-and-back drivers that distribute audio evenly. Inside the cabinet, there is a 90W Class D amplifier driving a 6.5-inch woofer and passive radiator. There are two 55W Class D amplifiers for the 2-inch full-range speakers. The system has a frequency response ranging from 40Hz to 20kHz with a peak output that tops out at 97dB at 1 meter.

Alongside physical Bass and Treble controls, the speaker’s side panel also has two dedicated XLR/6.35mm combo inputs with individual volume and effects controls that can handle microphones and instruments for impromptu live performances or karaoke sessions.

Positioned behind the Bromley 150’s front grille are the integrated stage lights that move in sync with the music, with three selectable presets ranging from subtle ambient backlighting to a full-on light show.

To power the Bromley 150, there is removable and pre-installed LiFePO4 battery delivering up to 40 hours of playing time from a single charge. A quick 20-minute burst charge provides up to 5 hours of playback time, while a full recharge takes around 3 hours.

Wireless connectivity on the Bromley 150 is via Bluetooth 5.3 adn there is support for Auracast, Multipoint connectivity and the hi-res LC3 audio codec, alongside SBC and AAC. For connecting the speaker to other devices, Marshall has included standard 3.5mm AUX input/output jacks.
