September is ending in a rainy crescendo. It’s cold outside and quite frankly, it makes me want to sit inside curled up in my Lazy Boy under a blanket with a cup of coffee or hot cocoa and nothing to do but watch TV all day.

Fortunately for us, this fall is filled to the brim with new streaming options and Netflix has an absolutely stacked October to look forward to. Here are some highlights before we dive into the full release guide. Be sure to let me know what’s at the top of your list as well.

Florence Pugh stars as Cathy Ames in this seven-episode adaptation of John Steinbeck’s classic novel, but the really interesting connection is behind the scenes: Zoe Kazan created the series, and her grandfather Elia Kazan directed the famous 1955 East of Eden starring James Dean. Pugh also executive produces, with Challengers star Mike Faist and Christopher Abbott playing brothers Charles and Adam Trask. This actually makes me want to go watch the James Dean film. Along with Rebel Without A Cause and Giant , it was his only other film before his tragic death. All three movies came out between 1955 and 1956.

Ben Affleck directs, co-writes and stars in this kidnapping thriller opposite Kerry Washington. That’s notable because Affleck has a pretty impressive directing résumé: Gone Baby Gone, The Town and Best Picture winner Argo . Here, he plays a Los Angeles mayoral candidate whose son is kidnapped, forcing him and his wife into an increasingly desperate ransom hunt. As a huge fan of Affleck’s films (I just rewatched Gone Baby Gone and The Town) I’m really excited for this one. The supporting cast is also excellent, including Steven Yeun and Gillian Anderson.

The Diplomat: Season 4 — October 15

Keri Russell returns for the fourth season of Debora Cahn’s acclaimed political drama, alongside Rufus Sewell, Allison Janney and Bradley Whitford. Cahn previously wrote and produced The West Wing and Homeland , and this season puts those four characters, and two increasingly dysfunctional marriages, at the center of an escalating U.S.-U.K. crisis. This show actually made the NYT Top 100 Shows of the 21st Century list, which notably did not include The Sopranos .

This one is considerably weirder than Netflix’s short synopsis makes it sound. Romain Gavras, director of the visually spectacular Athena , directs, with Chris Evans playing a movie star taken hostage at a Greek island charity gala by Anya Taylor-Joy and a volcanic doomsday cult who believe that sacrificing three people, they can save humanity. The loaded ensemble also includes Salma Hayek, John Malkovich, Vincent Cassel, Charli XCX and Yung Lean. That’s quite a cast. I’m also getting Joe vs the Volcano vibes. Well, at least the volcano and human sacrifice bit. This looks bonkers.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 — October 20

CD Projekt Red is once again teaming with acclaimed Japanese animation house Studio Trigger for a new 10-episode standalone story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077 . Original Edgerunners writer and Hugo winner Bartosz Sztybor returns as showrunner, while Kai Ikarashi makes his series-directing debut after working on the original anime. Night City returns, but with a totally new story and all-new characters. The first season was fantastic and this looks every bit as good. I am also reminded that I need several more hours a day so I can go play the game which I never finished. And also that CD Projekt Red’s remastered The Witcher 3 is out today!

Nobody Wants This: Season 3 — October 22

Kristen Bell and Adam Brody return as Joanne and Noah, but this season moves beyond the show’s original will-they/won’t-they setup as the couple moves in together. Creator Erin Foster is also appearing on-screen for the first time, while Andrew Rannells and Sarah Silverman are among the new additions to the cast. Season 2 spent two weeks at No. 1 on Netflix’s English TV chart, pulling 18 million views in its first 11 days. Can it sustain its popularity now that the initial will-they/won’t-they tease is over? I suppose there’s always “will they break up?” to keep us on the edge of our seats.

Lupin: Part 4 — October 23

Omar Sy returns as the charming Assane Diop in one of Netflix’s biggest international franchises, once again drawing inspiration from Maurice Leblanc’s legendary gentleman thief Arsène Lupin. Part 4 picks up four years after the previous installment, with Assane still behind bars and intending to leave his Lupin persona behind . . . until, naturally, circumstances pull him back in. This is such a charming crime series, filled with fun heists and characters. Omar Sy is just excellent.
