In a major strategic pivot, Zwift has introduced its most significant platform evolution in years: the Zwift Plus subscription. While the standard membership remains available, this new $29.99 monthly tier introduces high-end coaching capabilities and, for the first time in the company’s history, video-based cycling routes.

A New Visual Frontier

Since its inception in 2015, Zwift has been defined by its fully rendered, immersive virtual worlds. The introduction of Zwift Video marks a departure from this signature aesthetic, offering a ride experience that mirrors the realism found on platforms like Rouvy, which Zwift acquired in April 2026. Despite the acquisition, the company clarifies that these video courses are entirely proprietary.

A company representative confirmed that Zwift Video was engineered from the ground up to integrate familiar gamification elements into a real-world visual framework. The initial launch features 21 routes spanning 385km across diverse global landscapes, with a promise of consistent content updates starting in the new year.

Initial Route Highlights

  • The French Alps: Col du Galibier, Cime de la Bonette, and Upper Bonette.
  • Mallorca: Sa Calobra and Coll de Femenia.
  • Tenerife: Teide Plateau.
  • Western Cape: Chapmans Peak, Clarence Drive, and various mountain passes.
  • Lofoten Islands: Midnight Sun Road and coastal routes.
  • Southern Utah & Colorado: Arches National Park, Glen Canyon, and Dolores Dirt.
  • Scottish Highlands: Glen Etive, Quinag Highlands, and Glen Garry Wilds.

Data-Driven Coaching

Beyond the visuals, Zwift Plus aims to revolutionize user training through its new coaching suite. By leveraging anonymized data from millions of riders and applying peer-reviewed sports science, the platform now offers personalized workout recommendations designed to optimize training intensity and volume.

The system functions as a digital mentor, assessing individual goals to generate tailored plans and providing post-session analysis that goes beyond basic power metrics. This feature set is bolstered by enhanced wearable integration, including support for Whoop, which provides the platform with deeper insights into an athlete's physical readiness.

The two areas where we saw the biggest opportunity to deliver more were through personalized adaptive coaching and more routes for Zwifters to explore. We’ve packaged both into Zwift Plus, says Mark Cote, VP of Product at Zwift.

Zwift Plus is currently available for $29.99 per month, positioning itself as a comprehensive solution for cyclists seeking both variety in their scenery and precision in their athletic development.
