Yamaha has announced two sleek streaming components designed for the digital age: the WXA-70A streaming amplifier and the WXC-70A streaming preamplifier. Combining high-resolution audio performance with easy operation, both models provide modern connectivity in a space-saving footprint that blends into most living spaces.

The WXA-70A is designed to transform passive speakers into a standalone, modern Hi-Fi system or it can act as a multi-room extension for Yamaha’s AVENTAGE home theater lineup. Meanwhile, the WXC-70A brings contemporary streaming and smart TV integration to existing setups, pairing well with Yamaha’s A-S Series integrated amplifiers.

“The WXA-70A and WXC-70A were created for music lovers who demand exceptional sound without operational complexity,” says Alex Sadeghian, Director of Consumer Audio Marketing at Yamaha. “These models bridge Yamaha’s Hi-Fi heritage with today’s most popular streaming platforms. Whether you are building a new music system from scratch or upgrading an existing setup, they deliver remarkable sound quality, flexibility, and long-term value.”

At the core of both components is an audiophile-grade ESS SABRE DAC tuned for clean and detailed sound. Out of the box, both models support AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, and Roon Ready so users can stream directly from their favorite apps.

Yamaha’s built-in MusicCast technology enables seamless multi-room control through a single app. Users can stream different tracks to separate rooms or group compatible devices together for synchronized, house-wide audio.

For video integration, both models feature an HDMI eARC port for single-cable setup with compatible televisions, allowing power and volume to be controlled via the TV remote. A full suite of analog and digital inputs also makes it easy to hook up traditional sources like CD players or turntables (requiring a phono preamp).

Calibration & Smart Home Integration

To ensure optimal sound in any environment, both models include Yamaha’s YPAO calibration microphone. The automated system analyzes room acoustics and speaker placement to optimize playback parameters, while YPAO R.S.C. (Reflected Sound Control) tames early acoustic reflections to enhance imaging and clarity.

Designed with custom installers in mind, the WXA-70A and WXC-70A feature Control4 compatibility, web-based setup, IR inputs, and 12V trigger support for smooth integration into many modern smart home ecosystems.
