Sylvester Stallone is back as Dwight “The General” Manfredi in the fourth season of Taylor Sheridan’s hit Paramount+ crime drama, Tulsa King . The new season premieres this Friday, October 16th, with Dwight facing a new wave of enemies as he attempts to transform his growing criminal empire into a legitimate business.

Of course, going legit is easier said than done when you’re a New York mobster with a long and growing list of enemies. And Dwight is hardly one to shy away from feather-ruffling. Season 4 promises corrupt politicians, dangerous new rivals and more personal stakes, all of which threatens to upend everything Dwight has built in Oklahoma. In other words, the same thing we’ve been watching for three seasons, only more of it, which isn’t a bad thing.

Terence Winter, the acclaimed writer behind The Soprano s and creator of Boardwalk Empire , returns as head writer and executive producer for Tulsa King Season 4. Winter originally served as showrunner during the first season before stepping down ahead of Season 2. Dave Erickson, who took over showrunning duties in Season 3, has departed to focus on Mayor of Kingstown . Interestingly, Season 4 reportedly went into production without a traditional showrunner, with 101 Studios executive Scott Stone overseeing day-to-day production.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Tulsa King Season 4 premiere, including when it comes out, where to watch, the episode release schedule and what to expect from the new season.

What Time Does ‘Tulsa King’ Season 4 Premiere?

Tulsa King Season 4 premieres Friday, October 16th, 2026, exclusively on Paramount+. The premiere is expected to become available at midnight Pacific Time / 3 a.m. Eastern Time.

Unlike previous seasons, which debuted on Sundays, Season 4 moves to Fridays. New episodes are expected to arrive weekly.

‘Tulsa King’ Season 4 At-A-Glance

What Is ‘Tulsa King’ Season 4 About?

“Bad things are gonna happen to bad people.” ~ Dwight, in the trailer above.

Season 4 finds Dwight attempting to consolidate his power and move his expanding empire into legitimate business ventures. But the more successful Dwight becomes, the more enemies he makes.

As the pressure mounts, the former New York mafia capo finds himself falling back on the same ruthless instincts that helped him survive decades in organized crime, not to mention his very long stint in prison.

One of the season’s major new characters is Amanda Clark, a Tulsa politician played by Gretchen Mol ( Boardwalk Empire ). Meanwhile, Dwight’s longstanding feud with New York mobster Quiet Ray Renzetti (James Russo) is far from over.

‘Tulsa King’ Season 3 Recap: What Happened Last Season?

Spoilers for Season 3 follow.

Season 3 saw Dwight’s criminal empire continue to expand, but his ambitions brought him into conflict with some of his most dangerous enemies yet. The show is very much the wiseguy version of Yellowstone , with everyone always coming after our hero and what he’s built (only it’s a criminal empire in the making rather than a ranch).

Much of the season revolved around Dwight’s acquisition of the Montague Distillery, which put him on a collision course with wealthy liquor magnate Jeremiah Dunmire (Robert Patrick). Dunmire wanted control of the business and was willing to resort to increasingly violent methods to get it.

The conflict eventually turned personal when Dunmire kidnapped Dwight’s sister, Joanne (Annabella Sciorra), hoping to force Dwight to surrender the distillery. Dwight rescued Joanne and exacted brutal revenge, capturing Dunmire and burning him alive.

Meanwhile, Dwight became entangled with FBI Special Agent Musso (the always marvelous Kevin Pollak), who attempted to use the mobster for his own purposes. Dwight managed to turn the arrangement to his advantage, securing a federal liquor permit that strengthened his growing business. But the deal also left Musso with leverage over him.

New York mobster Quiet Ray Renzetti also remained a serious threat, and his failed attempt to eliminate Dwight left plenty of unfinished business heading into Season 4, and an increasingly large target on the General’s back.

Samuel L. Jackson’s character, Russell Lee Washington, was also introduced in Season 3, appearing in the final two episodes. This served largely as a way to introduce the character for the next Sheridan crime series, Frisco King, which premieres December 18, 2026 on Paramount+. Watch the first trailer for that series below :

The trailer says “Small Town, Big Hustle” but Frisco has around 250,000 people so it’s not exactly small. Small compared to NYC, sure, but a pretty decent-sized city. More than half the size of Tulsa, in any case.

‘Tulsa King’ Season 4 Episode Release Schedule

Season 4 is listed for ten episodes, with new installments arriving every Friday. Assuming the weekly schedule remains unchanged, the finale will air December 18th.

Paramount+ has confirmed the October 16 premiere but not independently verified every future listing. Titles are based on third-party reporting rather than an official release schedule.

Who Is In The ‘Tulsa King’ Season 4 Cast?

Stallone returns alongside much of the show’s growing ensemble, including several familiar allies and adversaries.

Mol is among the season’s most notable new additions. Terence Winter, whose credits include The Sopranos and s , serves as head writer and executive producer.

Is ‘Tulsa King’ Worth Watching?

Tulsa King has always worked best as a showcase for Sylvester Stallone and he’s clearly having a blast with this series. If you’re a Stallone fan (and how could you not be? asks the critic with a Rocky poster in his TV room), this is must-watch TV. And sure, the plot tends to be the same each season – the mobster version of Yellowstone – but it’s still entertaining and you don’t have to deal with Beth.

Stallone’s gruff charisma and surprisingly spot-on comic timing make Dwight Manfredi one of the more entertaining antiheroes in modern television. The show’s blend of old-school gangster drama with fish-out-of-water comedy makes for a somewhat lighter – dare I say more playful? – mobster drama. It’s certainly less bleak than some of Taylor Sheridan’s other projects.

Whether Season 4 can maintain that balance remains to be seen. All these new problems should give Dwight plenty of opportunities to do what he does best: outmaneuver his enemies, protect his crew and occasionally crack some skulls.

Will There Be A ‘Tulsa King’ Season 5?

Thankfully, yes. Paramount+ has already renewed Tulsa King for a fifth season, with production relocating to New York as Dwight’s story returns to his mafia roots. In other words, you can take the Tulsa out of Tulsa King but you can’t take the King out of Dwight Manfredi. Or something like that.

Season 5 will also introduce several new cast members, including Erik Palladino, Glenn Fleshler, Anthony Skordi and Nickola Shreli. Scarlet Rose Stallone has been promoted to series regular.

Production is already underway, though Paramount+ has not announced a premiere date. The first three seasons of Tulsa King are currently available to stream on Paramount+. Season 4 premieres Friday, October 16th.
