‘Valorant’ 13.06 Patch Notes Bring New Weapon, Stats And UI Overhaul
The latest set of Valorant patch notes have been released for the 13.06 update, and they bring a ton of changes that may not have massive impacts when on the map, but do change just about everything else you can think of.
At the top of the massive changes list is the rework to the lobby and home page, which have essentially been merged into one. All the important things you might need before jumping into a match are now accessible from one place, such as events, missions, the map pool and leaderboards, without having to navigate away from your party.
The general navigation hub has also been reworked to make it easier to understand and follow, and there are new indicators in your collection to show when you have new cosmetics to play with.
Speaking of cosmetics, the patch notes reveal that the entire agent mastery system has also been overhauled. Now you have to play as an agent to unlock their mastery items, which makes sense if you think about it. Unfortunately the new system means all current progress has been wiped, so you’ll have to start playing your favorite agents again to unlock all their goodies.
Rounding out the UI and general systems changes are some that also tie into the in-game side of things as well. Anyone who has to deal with long queue times can now head to the range while searching for a match to get warmed up, and there is a new stat in town: Performance Score, which replaces the Average Combat Score and is based on more than just shooting folks. There is also a new end-of-game screen, which shows more info and should be a little more interesting to look at.
For those who prefer to spend as much time as possible on the map, this patch may be a little underwhelming with no major agent changes. However, there is one massive addition that will shake up just about every Valorant match you play, the new rifle known as the Warden.
The Warden is a new gun in Valorant that will sit in the rifle class and cost 2900 credits, putting it in the same category as the Vandal and Phantom. It features a 2x scope, 18 bullets in each magazine and packs quite the punch, which should make it a viable alternative to the two main weapons in Valorant .
Of course, it will take some time to figure out just how well it stacks up against the other two weapons, especially at the pro level . But this is a cool new addition that will shake things up a lot more than any single agent change could.
The full Valorant 13.06 patch notes also bring info on a new game mode, some bug fixes and info on some player behavior system changes, including info on how more than 90,000 smurfs and boosters have been banned this year. Overall it seems like a good upgrade to Valorant , and one that has been long overdue.
