Ugreen has traditionally been a company you went to if you needed a charger or a power bank. But now it seems it wants to be the brains of your smart home.

Over in Berlin at IFA 2026, the Chinese brand took the covers off HomeAgent: a local-first AIoT platform that combines AI processing, storage, security cameras and smart home control in a single system across a multitude of devices.

At the center of the system is the HomeAgent HA100, a local hub designed to store your files, photos and security footage, while at the same time running AI models and controlling compatible smart home devices.

With HomeAgent, you can ask Ugreen’s AI assistant Uliya (using a new smart speaker it’s also launching) to control connected devices, check what’s happening around the house or create voice notifications for specific events.

For example, you could ask Uliya to let you know when a package arrives, a car parks on the driveway, or if a baby starts crying.

The system can analyze security camera footage locally, recognizing people, vehicles, pets and packages, then summarize what happened rather than forcing you to scroll through hours of footage. Ugreen says you can search recorded footage using keywords, too.

Everything happens locally on the device but you will need to allow it to connect to the internet to get notifications on your phone.

That’s something the likes of SwitchBot, Reolink and Anker are also starting to offer, but HomeAgent is also designed to do something else with all the other data it collects. Ugreen says its AI can identify interesting moments in your camera feeds and photo library, automatically create highlight videos and display them on its Gallery Smart Frame.

So, essentially, your home can watch you, remember what happened and then make a little highlights reel of it.

Which is either delightfully futuristic or slightly unsettling, depending on your viewpoint.

To do all this it’s launching a bunch of security cameras too, including the SynCare Indoor Cam ID500 Pro, the PoE-powered SynCare Cam OD600 Pro and the battery-powered SynCare Cam OD800 Pro.

Ugreen is also stating that the HomeAgent can act as a Matter Controller (with Thread on board too), allowing control over compatible third-party smart home devices locally as well.

There’s also a mention of Zigbee bridging, although Ugreen does say there will be a compatibility list published when the device goes on sale, so it’s not clear how wide this brand and protocol-agnostic vision will spread just yet - or when exactly it will happen.

But, in theory at least, it does mean you could ask Uliya to control your lights, blinds, power and a whole lot more.

There’s a more powerful version, too: the HomeAgent HA100 Pro is designed for heavier AI workloads, with Ugreen promising deeper contextual understanding, voice-created rules and more sophisticated device control.

Then there’s the rather ridiculous-sounding MasterAgent MA100, which is aimed at people who think they need a small AI data center in their living room.

It uses Nvidia’s Jetson Thor T5000 platform and is claimed to deliver up to 2,070 FP4 TFLOPS of local computing power.

That horsepower is intended to let developers run larger AI models and build additional capabilities for the platform, with Ugreen planning to allow developers to create their own packages or “skills.”

Pre-orders for the HomeAgent HA100, HA100 Pro and MasterAgent MA100 are open now, with the Kickstarter campaign following at the end of October.

Ugreen says launch pricing will start with Super Early Bird discounts, although the company hasn’t yet revealed the regular retail prices.

I’m usually wary of anything that has a crowdfunding element to it, but it’s a new area for an established brand and the hardware is real, as review units have been sent out to the tech press already for testing.
