“Psych” comes from Greek psychē (ψυχή), meaning “soul, mind, or breath of life.” The slang verb psych, meaning “to intimidate or mentally unsettle,” emerged in the 20th century from psychology, particularly in the phrase “psych out.” The exclamation “Psych!” (meaning “just kidding” or “fooled you”) became popular in American slang during the 1980s.

Today’s Wordle Bot Analysis

Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordle score with Wordle Bot right here .

STALE (my inversion of the Wordle Bot’s SLATE) was a good opener, leaving me with just 61 words. CHOIR is one of my favorite second guesses (when A and E are in my first guess) and it left me with just one possible solution: PSYCH for the win!

I get 1 point for guessing in three and another for beating the Bot. The Bot gets 0 points for guessing in four and -1 for losing to me. After two months of losing to the Wordle Bot, it’s nice to have such a sizable lead halfway into October:

  • The hint : Almost the opposite of yesterday’s Custom Wordle.
  • The clue: This Wordle has a double letter.
  • Yesterday’s Custom Wordle Answer : VALLEY
