Looking for help with today’s Wordle? In this guide, we have some extra hints and clues to help you on your path to Wordle victory, plus a fun Bonus Wordle to solve while you’re at it. The answer is below as well, plus some Wordle Bot analysis and plenty more.

Saturday is here and I’m just hoping it doesn’t rain this morning because I have an outdoor yoga and pilates class I’m doing and I’d rather not do it in the rain, mostly not because I care about getting wet but because I think they’d cancel it if it rained. Rain won’t stop us from solving today’s Wordle at least!

Today’s Wordle Hints & Clues

Okay, now that the bonus custom Wordle is out of the way, let’s move on to the official real deal Wordle!

  • Wordle Bot’s Starting Word: SLATE
  • My Starting Word Today: BLEAK (8 words left)
  • The Hint : A song for the dead.
  • The Clue: This Wordle starts with a vowel.

Hints not enough, or curious to see if you did better than me on today’s Wordle? You can find the answer and read my Wordle Bot analysis and check out the current Competitive Wordle score between me, your humble Wordle guide, and the Wordle Bot below!

“Elegy” comes from Greek elegeia , meaning an elegiac poem or lament, via Latin elegia . Originally it referred to poetry written in a particular meter, not necessarily mournful; over time it narrowed to mean a poem or song of mourning, especially for the dead.

Today’s Wordle Bot Analysis

Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordle score with Wordle Bot right here .

BLEAK wasn’t just a good and lucky opening guess, it was oddly fitting as well. An ELEGY, after all, is often BLEAK at least in the sense that it’s about something dead or dying or lost. I got pretty lucky with my goofy second guess, FELTY, which I felt stupid over as soon as I’d entered it, but which left me with only one possible solution at least!

The Bot and I tied and get 1 point each for guessing in three.

I suppose if I win every day I could still come back at this point, but I’m not counting on it!

Today’s Bonus Custom Wordle

One Wordle not enough? I come up with a new custom Wordle every day for you to solve. Here’s today’s.

Today’s Bonus Custom Wordle is 5 letters long.

  • The hint : Very similar to today’s Wordle.
  • The clue: This Wordle begins with a consonant.
