“Dealt” is the past tense of deal , from Old English dǣlan , meaning “to divide, distribute, or share,” from dǣl (“part, portion”). Hence to “deal” cards originally means to distribute them into portions.

Today’s Wordle Bot Analysis

Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordle score with Wordle Bot right here .

STALE was a very good opening guess — apparently just a tiny bit better than SLATE, the Wordle Bot’s.
