With the latest Zelda focused Nintendo Direct now behind us, there’s a lot of new 40th anniversary content that looks really special.

First, there’s the remake of Ocarina of Time for the Switch 2. Paul already covered this and showed the new trailer, but there is an additional 15-minute gameplay video narrated by Aonuma-san (shown below).

Having played and completed the 3DS remake some years back, while the visuals are obviously massively improved here, the gameplay has been given more thought, too.

The big and obvious improvement is that the old camera setup was fixed, but now it’s free-moving. The button prompts also look very familiar if you’ve played either Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom .

The Ocarina of Time remake will also get a physical version and be released on November 5 for $69.99 . The regular digital release will also be cheaper at $59.99 .

Second, there’s a new Zelda -themed Switch 2 and Pro Controller on the way. Released on October 29, they cost $519.99 and $99.99 , respectively.

Third, we not only have a playable Ocarina by HORI to look forward to, but Hasbro is also doing its own Master Sword toy.

This version of the Master Sword comes in at 68 cm and is quite a bit smaller than the 105 cm long Proplica Master Sword by Bandai Spirits. The good news is that it still has motion-controlled sounds, music, and all for a much more affordable price of $39.99 .

Finally, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Zelda , we were treated to a lovely orchestral Triforce Medley (shown below).

While I may pass on the new Zelda -themed Switch 2, I will definitely be checking out the Ocarina of Time remake once it’s available. In short, this year will have a lot of fun Zelda stuff to look forward to.
