The ‘GTA 6’ Leaks Get Higher Quality With No End In Sight
We are approaching a week of non-stop Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks from a so-far unstoppable leaker, Cyberleeks, who appears to have a full build of the game. Or at least an old one. They are not taking weekends off, and there have been a number of leaks since the last update, each one getting higher in quality than the last and we are now far past the blurrier footage we began with. We are actually approaching the level of quality we could see in this upcoming week’s Netflix GTA 6 gameplay special.
Among the recent leaks over the past 48 hours or so:
- Cyberleeks released footage from inside a GTA 6 s trip club, rewarding observers after they pumped up his crypto coin past a $3 million market cap. The footage is nothing especially scandalous, but using binoculars we get a look at the quality of some of the NPC models’ faces, which are quite good.
- A new clip has a car driving around with what appears to be gasoline in its bed, resulting in an instant death crash with some odd physics and sound effects (remember, none of these are finished builds and the game is still being polished as we speak ahead of release). This appears to be a reference to an actual real-life event that happened years ago where a video captured a man filling up the bed of his truck with gasoline.
- At one point, a specific clip is released in which Jason says he needs to “gotta take a leak.” Ha.
- The latest clip is a very high-quality piece of footage shot from an airplane, showing the Vice City skyline at night. Minus the watermarks, it seems like something that could be in an official gameplay reveal.
- One of the clips has a message for Jason to “return to Lucia,” the first reference to the other playable character in the game. Many wonder why there has been no footage of her yet, the theory being that Cyberleek is still early-ish in the game before she is actually playable.
- On top of this, a new poll on Cyberleek’s website is now taking votes on whether they release footage of the beach, a second strip club or a nudist town next.
The longest stretch of time without a Cyberleeks leak was about 24 hours, during which people believed they were caught, but that was not the case. Take-Two seems to have eased up on the whack-a-mole of DMCA takedowns on all these clips given how fast they are spreading (still, I would not post them, nor am I even linking to them here). They are busy subpoenaing everyone from Microsoft to Discord to now X in order to find specific account information, which even includes “fake” profiles for Cyberleek (who has said they have never had an X account).
This entire situation is teetering on a knife’s edge right now. So far, nothing Cyberleek has leaked has been some wild reveal about what’s coming, as wild as the situation itself may be. Rockstar wants absolutely none of this online, of course, but Cyberleeks has stopped short of outright story spoilers, though that could change any moment. We’ll see if there’s another leak by the time I’ve finished writing this article. As ever, Rockstar or Take-Two have made no public comment, nor have they responded to my requests.
