After years of flirting with the controller market, PC gaming and esports juggernaut SteelSeries has finally revealed its first-ever elite-level pad — a “new generation of luxury controllers for dual threat players,” which can also be used on the Xbox Series X|S.

The wireless Aeon Pro offers what SteelSeries calls a patent-pending world first: a “QuickSwitch Dock System” for PC and Xbox, where dual USB inputs on the desktop base station let players charge the controller on their desk and switch between Xbox and PC without having to re-pair or move cables. It’s also compatible with other devices that support Bluetooth connectivity.

Until now, SteelSeries controllers have focused on the entry-level mobile gaming market, with its phone-mount-based Nimbus+ and Stratus+ , plus its Backbone Pro -style Nimbus Cloud . The Aeon Pro is a vast departure from these $70 options, retailing for a whopping $259.99, putting it on the same pedestal as 2025’s excellent Nacon Revolution X Unlimited , plus Razer’s Wolverine V3 and the Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra — though still coming in $60 above these competitors.

Still, it’s more or less there with the rest of its features, especially its OLED screen and its always-on approach to battery charging, which you only see regularly in high-end headsets.

The Aeon Pro is now available in black and white , but I’d always recommend the former; any controller with a full textured grip soon gets dirty from even the best-washed hands over time, and the grip’s always a nightmare to clean.

Admittedly, the QuickSwitch Dock System might not exactly work for people like me — my PC is a good six meters away from my Xbox — but I’d absolutely consider getting a USB extender for the peace of mind. After all, if you’re dropping $260 on the SteelSeries pad, what’s another $7 for a cable?
