Soundboks Rider Has Power And Portability For A Compact Party Speaker
Danish audio company Soundboks has carved out a reputation for making high-performance Bluetooth party speakers with tank-like build quality and enough stamina to play for up to 35 hours on a single charge.
The Soundboks Rider is the brand’s smallest and lightest speaker to date. It delivers the signature Soundboks audio profile housed in a rugged, strap-friendly cabinet.
The Rider packs a serious sonic punch with a maximum SPL of 118dB and up to 35 hours of runtime via its removable battery pack. A water- and dust-resistant rating to IP66 standard means it can handle pool parties, backyard gatherings or a bit of rain.
Party speaker buyers often face a compromise: choose a compact Bluetooth speaker that is lightweight and portable or opt for a powerful traditional speaker plagued by a bulky, cumbersome design.
The Soundboks Rider bridges that gap by combining an 8-inch woofer and a 1.2-inch tweeter with true grab-and-go Bluetooth portability and enough output to get a party started.
“Typically, speakers make you trade volume for convenience. We built Rider so you’d never have to choose again,” says Jesper Santon Thomsen, CEO of Soundboks. “Wherever the moment happens, your sound shows up in full. It’s the smallest speaker we’ve ever made, yet it’s still loud enough to turn an ordinary afternoon into the story everyone tells later. Why plan harder when you can be freer?”
Designed for days at the beach, stadium tailgates, or family backyard gatherings, the Rider weighs just 6.5 kg (14.3 lbs) making it the lightest model in the Soundboks lineup and portable enough that it won’t put your back out.
The removable and replaceable battery powers the Rider for up to 35 hours at moderate listening levels, or up to eight hours at maximum volume. It uses the same swappable, fast-charging USB-C battery found across the wider Soundboks product family.
Beyond its IP66 rating, the Rider features a durable steel grille and Soundboks’ signature shock-resistant ball corners for impact protection. The streamlined side control panel includes a large volume knob with a segmented LED volume indicator as well as a 3.5mm auxiliary input for connecting legacy devices.
Through the companion Soundboks smartphone app, users can adjust EQ settings, select custom sound profiles, or lock the speaker remotely. The unit features an integrated carry handle and is compatible with an optional Soundboks carry strap.
