The Shure MV6 USB Gaming Microphone Gen 2 is the latest addition to Shure’s digital MOTIV microphone portfolio. Following the success of the original model, the MV6 Gen 2 has been updated based on feedback from gamers, streamers, and content creators so that it offers more customizable audio while remaining affordable.

More Intelligent Processing

The Gen 2 MV6 now offers more control over its built-in intelligent processing. Designed around Shure’s Voice Isolation Technology, the mic features an adjustable Auto Level Mode and an adjustable Real-Time Denoiser to tame sudden volume changes and background noise when gaming or streaming.

The result, says Shure, is personalized audio that stays clear and consistent, helping users stay focused on their game while offering more freedom in microphone placement so it functions optimally and looks good on camera.

Built For Gaming, Streaming And Creating

The MV6 Gen 2 is designed for the realities of gaming, streaming, and content creation—from sudden volume changes and background noise to setups that transition across PCs, tablets, and phones. Users can fine-tune audio settings in the free MOTIV desktop, tablet, and mobile apps, then save them directly to the microphone for consistent sound when switching between compatible devices.

The main difference in this second generation of the MV6 is the addition of two colorways: black and a new all-white option. Both choices ship with a matching desktop stand and USB-C cable. The white model features color-matched flocked foam.

The new mic features an Adjustable Auto Level Mode that can handle everything from a whisper to a whoop, keeping voices at a steady, consistent volume. Users can also choose where their voice sits in the mix and how quickly the mic reacts to changes. A slower setting delivers a smooth, podcast-style sound, while a faster one captures sudden gaming moments without clipping or dropouts.

An Adjustable Real-Time Denoiser includes a new slider that lets users control how much ambient room noise comes through on stream. Slide it up to cut out background noise like fans, keyboards, or roommates, or pull back on the slider to produce a more natural, open sound in the mix.

A 5-band customizable equalizer lets users design a signature tone on top of the basic Dark, Natural, and Bright options. A built-in Digital Popper Stopper automatically and digitally suppresses harsh plosives and pop sounds. The microphone also features three presets offering quick and easy settings for Speech, Singing, and Instrument applications.

The Shure MV6 Gen 2 ships with a longer 2-meter USB-C cable so the microphone can be positioned more flexibly. The included desktop stand features an isolation base to minimize desk bumps and vibrations, while a universal 5/8-inch thread allows the mic to be attached to any standard boom arm. A 3.5mm headphone jack at the rear of the mic lets users monitor their voice and game audio without latency, while a tap-to-mute hardware button with a color-changing LED indicator enables instant, silent muting.
