Sean “Diddy” Combs was transferred from a New Jersey federal prison to a smaller, low-security facility in Pennsylvania on Friday, the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed to Forbes, weeks after NBC News reported he lived a “VIP lifestyle” at his former facility.

Combs was transferred to the Federal Corrections Institution Allenwood Low, the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed to Forbes, though spokesperson Randilee Giamusso declined to share a reason for his move.

Combs was transferred Friday morning from his prior facility, New Jersey’s Fort Dix prison, but for “privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody, including reasons for transfer,” Giamusso told Forbes.

Combs’ representative Juda Engelmayer told Forbes he “cannot speak to the BOP’s specific reasons for the move,” adding, “We are grateful for the attention being given to his well-being and hope he can continue serving his time without unnecessary disruption.”

The move comes two weeks after NBC News reported Combs lived a lavish lifestyle at Fort Dix, with access to a contraband cellphone, smuggled alcohol and massages.

Days after the NBC News article was published, the outlet reported Combs had been placed in solitary confinement at Fort Dix.

Combs’ new facility is much smaller, totaling about 1,000 inmates, about a quarter of the size of Fort Dix.

Was Diddy Injured In A Prison Fight?

Combs’ representatives and prison officials have rebuffed reports from multiple tabloids that claimed he was injured last week in a fight with a fellow inmate. In a statement to multiple outlets , the Federal Bureau of Prisons said, “While, for privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody, we can tell you that the story you are referring to is false and did not happen,” referring to the reports of a fight. Engelmayer told USA Today he has “not independently verified the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident,” adding he has “no verified information” that Combs was in a fight, “or that he sustained injuries.” TMZ and People previously reported Combs sustained a head injury after a fellow inmate attacked him, claiming the NBC News report about Combs’ “VIP treatment” sparked the conflict.

When Will Diddy Be Released From Prison?

Combs’ release is scheduled for March 2, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ inmate database. Following the NBC News report about his prison life conditions, the outlet reported Combs had been stripped of 41 days of “good conduct time,” which pushed his release date from January 2028 to March 2028.

Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison after he was convicted on two violations of the Mann Act, which outlaws transportation to engage in prostitution, though he escaped a potentially lengthier sentence after a jury acquitted him on more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. Combs was convicted following a high-profile trial in the summer of 2025 that saw testimony from dozens of witnesses, including former romantic partners, ex-employees and federal investigators. The prosecution’s key witness was his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who took the stand for a week-long testimony, in which she alleged Combs raped her in 2018 and subjected her to abuse during their decade-long relationship. Combs is appealing his conviction and prison sentence, but a three-judge panel has not yet issued a ruling.
