Satechi Unveils Three New Matching Accessories For Apple’s MacBook Neo
Apple’s MacBook Neo has been selling like proverbial hotcakes. The affordable laptop powered by the Apple A18 chip has outsold all other computers thanks to its affordability and great build quality. The launch of a truly affordable Apple laptop has fueled a market for affordable Neo accessories. Satechi , the San Diego-based tech brand, has just announced three new accessories for the MacBook Neo in a choice of Citrus, Blush, Indigo and Silver colors.
The three new products are two USB hubs and a mouse that complements the MacBook Neo’s trackpad. The two hubs are the Satechi OntheGo 5-in-1 Multiport Adapter and the Satechi USB-C Snap Hub . Each product is designed to unlock the full potential of the Neo’s USB-C architecture and match each of the four MacBook Neo colors.
“With the MacBook Neo Collection, we’re giving Neo users more of what their Mac can actually do: more ports, more connectivity, and more functionality,” says Brock Guclu, Satechi’s co-founder and president. “MacBook Neo is Apple's most affordable laptop to date, and we wanted our accessories to reflect that same accessibility without compromising on the design and color that define the experience.”
The Satechi OntheGo 5-in-1 Multiport Adapter is a compact and round hub that offers display, charging, data and SD capabilities using the Neo’s 10Gbps USB-C port. The 5-in-1 has an integrated nylon-braided cable and it can transform the MacBook Neo into a travel-ready workstation with 4K/60Hz HDMI output, 60W USB-C pass-through charging, dual 5Gbps data ports (supporting both USB-A and USB-C), and an SD memory card reader.
The hub has a soft-touch magnetic base that can snap onto a USB-C MagSafe iPhone or mount on the Neo’s lid by using an included 3M adhesive magnetic ring. The hub is color-matched to the MacBook Neo and is designed to be a natural extension of Apple’s most affordable MacBook. The OntheGo 5-in-1 Multiport Adapter can also work with the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iPad or even a USB-C Windows laptop.
The second new Satechi product is the USB-C Snap Hub . This is the first hub that’s been engineered specifically for the MacBook Neo’s asymmetric USB-C port design. Power, data and video signals are routed for seamless performance, so all six ports work simultaneously without any configuration or guesswork.
The USB-C Snap Hub has a slim profile and connects directly to both of the MacBook Neo’s USB-C ports, sitting flush against the computer casing without any dangling cables. The hub has an anodized aluminum surface that echoes the Neo’s body color, while a soft-touch ABS base matches the keyboard’s finish.
The new Snap Hub has six ports: 4K/60Hz HDMI output, USB-A data, USB-C data, SD card, microSD card, plus a 45W pass-through USB-C charging port. The Snap Hub is available in Citrus, Blush, Indigo and Silver colors and is the first dual-pin hub designed to match all four of the MacBook Neo colors. The Snap Hub is also compatible with other dual USB-C MacBooks with host charging capped at a maximum of 45W.
Rounding off Satechi’s MacBook Neo collection is the Slim EX Wireless Mouse . Satechi says this is the first time a mouse has been made to match the four Neo colors. The wireless mouse has an optical sensor and connects to its host via two Bluetooth channels or a 2.4GHz wireless dongle.
The Slim EX Wireless Mouse features quiet click switches, a precision-machined scroll wheel in a low-profile aluminum shell that complements the MacBook Neo’s styling. It has a rechargeable battery that can be replaced by the user and it works with macOS, Windows, Android and iPadOS devices.
