Samsung One UI 9 Expansion: Five More Galaxy Phones Get Android 17
Samsung’s accelerated rollout of the One UI 9 update is gathering momentum, rapidly extending far beyond its domestic market in South Korea to reach a wave of new devices.
Powered by Android 17, the fresh software package has officially touched down on the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra across the U.K. and mainland Europe. Meanwhile, mid-range stalwarts like the A56 and A36 are welcoming the upgrade in Asian and European territories. Millions of Samsung customers are projected to unlock these advanced customisation features and system enhancements this week.
Which Galaxy Phones Get The One UI 9 Update Today
According to prominent Samsung industry analyst Tarun Vats, U.K.-based S23 owners participating in the One UI 9 beta program gained priority access on Monday, with neighboring European regions following closely behind. Early reports from users on Reddit also indicate initial distribution in Poland and Germany, alongside select U.S. markets. Beta participants face a modest download footprint of roughly 500MB, whereas users transitioning directly from One UI 8.5 will download a file scaling a couple of gigabytes.
The mass-market favourite Galaxy A56 initiated its international rollout originating in Indonesia. SamMobile notes that the Galaxy A36 stepped up on Tuesday with European markets leading the charge, though its firmware bundles the September security patch instead of October's release. Simultaneously, the Galaxy A37 is picking up One UI 9 deployments spanning Korea and Europe.
When Will One UI 9 Reach India And The U.S.?
Given the swift cross-border deployment this week, an Indian launch appears imminent. Vats indicates that the Galaxy S23, A27, A37, and A56 are slated for stable One UI 9 builds locally, though corporate confirmation regarding precise timelines remains pending. In the United States, T-Mobile reportedly initiated distribution for the Galaxy S23 lineup on Monday, paving the way for remaining carriers and unlocked device variants.

Is This The Last Big One UI 9 Update For The Galaxy S23?
The S23 series is likely reaching the end of its major OS upgrade lifecycle. Having debuted in February 2023 with Android 13 alongside a four-generation upgrade pledge, Android 17 marks its terminal operating system milestone, though security patches will persist.
Conversely, the Galaxy A36 enjoys a much longer runway. Having launched last year pre-loaded with Android 15, this deployment represents merely its second major system transition, leaving several upgrades ahead. With six additional models now joining the S26, S25, and S24 fleets, Samsung's One UI 9 ecosystem currently spans four flagship generations alongside an expanding footprint of mid-range hardware. Legacy Galaxy A devices and tablet computers are scheduled to follow next.
