Recent leaks increasingly point to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro functioning essentially as a compact iteration of the Galaxy S27 Ultra.

Earlier case design leaks from last month already hinted at distinct architectural differences separating the Pro and Ultra variants from the standard and Plus editions. Fresh intelligence now indicates that the Galaxy S27 Pro will incorporate Samsung’s premier display innovation: the advanced privacy screen.

Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro And Galaxy S27 Ultra Will Get An Improved Privacy Display

Industry reports from SamMobile reveal that Samsung is actively refining the privacy display for the upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra. This development comes as little surprise, considering the feature was widely celebrated as the pinnacle hardware innovation of the Galaxy S26 generation.

For those unfamiliar, the Galaxy S26 Ultra privacy display prevents surrounding individuals from snooping on your display. When activated, anyone viewing the smartphone from an angle encounters a darkened, unreadable panel, while the primary user maintains a crystal-clear view head-on.

Users can activate the feature directly via Quick Settings, configure it to engage automatically within sensitive programs like banking applications, conceal incoming notification banners from prying eyes, or dial up the maximum security setting.

Because this is an inherent hardware feature, it is integrated straight into the panel rather than relying on an aftermarket privacy screen protector. Samsung Display’s innovative Flex Magic Pixel panel utilizes a dual-pixel architecture: wide pixels dispersing light multidirectionally, and narrow pixels projecting light strictly forward. Under normal operation, both operate simultaneously. However, activating the privacy mode throttles the wide pixels down to a minimum, restricting illumination exclusively to the user holding the device.

According to reports from SamMobile, Samsung intends to elevate this technology for the Galaxy S27 lineup while extending it to the Galaxy S27 Pro. The initial leak points specifically to enhanced display brightness. Expectations suggest this will mitigate the greyed-out appearance during maximum privacy mode, alongside potential demands for granular controls over specific screen zones or tasks obscured when the setting is enabled.

How Much Will The Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro Cost?

Perhaps the most compelling revelation is Samsung’s decision to introduce the privacy display to the Galaxy S27 Pro, a more compact form factor designed to run parallel with the Galaxy S27 Ultra. Notably, the entry-level Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27 Plus will miss out on this hardware upgrade.

Previous hardware leaks have already highlighted a high-capacity silicon-carbon battery housed within the Pro model, paired with an upscale camera suite. Given that the privacy display was restricted exclusively to the Galaxy S26 Ultra previously, its inclusion firmly cements the Galaxy S27 Pro as an Ultra-tier device scaled down into a smaller chassis.

Pricing details remain under wraps. If Samsung positions the Galaxy S27 Pro as an accessible entry point to its premier Ultra technology—mirroring its approach with the Fold 8 this year—consumers may find some relief. Conversely, this strategy strongly suggests that the top-tier Galaxy S27 Ultra could face a price increase, matching the pricing adjustments seen with the Fold 8 Ultra.

Korean industry insider Lanzuk noted on Naver last September that the broader Galaxy S27 series faces inevitable price inflation driven by escalating memory component costs. Furthermore, market research firm IDC has cautioned that ongoing memory shortages are projected to persist throughout 2027, with market values unlikely to drop back down to 2025 baselines.

Predictive analysis suggests the Galaxy S27 Pro may debut matching the price point of the preceding Galaxy S26 Ultra, whereas the flagship Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra could see a modest $100 price surge should Samsung replicate its recent Fold 8 pricing blueprint.
