Samsung Galaxy S26 owners in the U.S. are finally getting One UI 9. After initial confirmation of a September release and unexplained delays slowed down the rollout, the update is finally hitting Galaxy phones.

Samsung’s Bumpy One UI 9 Roll Out

The Android 17-based update has started arriving on Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra devices, according to users on Reddit , who have confirmed the roughly 4GB download on T-Mobile.

It’s not reaching everyone yet. Unlocked Galaxy S26 phones don’t appear to have it, but the fact it’s landing on some phones means the wider rollout is close.

It has been a bumpy road for this update. Samsung released the stable One UI 9 in South Korea on September 16th, then pointed to September 21st for the next wave. That date passed, it moved to September 28th, and then Samsung’s Thailand newsroom dropped the specific date altogether instead simply promising it would land “within September.”

The wider rollout is moving too. Samsung tracker Tarun Vats has now spotted stable One UI 9 builds for a large chunk of the Galaxy A lineup, including the Galaxy A57, A37, A56, A36, A55, A35 and A34.

The A series is Samsung’s best-selling range (which is why Samsung is testing new battery replacement restrictions on Galaxy A phones ), so these builds represent a far bigger group of owners than the flagship S series. The Galaxy A34 wasn’t part of the beta program, so seeing a stable build for it is a good sign for owners of older mid-range phones.

It follows new stable builds spotted for the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S24 last week, which suggested Samsung was finalizing the update rather than still testing it.

What Samsung One UI 9 Features You’re Waiting For

The update brings 11 confirmed new features , including My FanCam, Now Nudge, Warranty and Care, Security Brief and expanded Scam Detection. Galaxy S25 and Z Fold 7 owners in the beta program already have most of these, but everyone else is waiting on the stable release.

It’s not exactly clear if all phones receiving the One UI 9 update will get these features. I imagine the A-series devices will get select AI-powered tools depending on their chipset and RAM. But flagship Galaxy S and foldable devices appear to be getting the full suite of new tools, except Google’s major new Android AI tool.

Samsung has not publicly explained the delays. Given how long One UI 9 has been in testing, and how many stable builds are now sitting on its servers, the hold-up looks more like a rollout problem than an unfinished update.

If Samsung sticks to its latest wording, Galaxy S26 owners in other regions, along with Galaxy S25, Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 owners, should see One UI 9 by the end of this month. If it slips again, it’ll be October.
