Phillies Organization Announces New Stadium Name After Record Attendance
As the Philadelphia Phillies continue to praise the home field advantage afforded by Citizens Bank Park in their ongoing quest to secure a home playoff series, fans got a major update on the naming rights for another one of the organization’s stadiums.
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs, the Phillies’ Triple-A affiliate that has helped develop key players like Rhys Hoskins and Cristopher Sanchez, recently announced the adoption of a new name for next season as the team’s fans continue to set record attendance figures.
Philadelphia Phillies Affiliate Announces Title Ballpark Sponsor
Earlier this month, the IronPigs announced that their longtime home in Allentown, Pennsylvania, will embrace a new title sponsor starting with the 2027 season.
“The Lehigh Valley IronPigs announced at a Thursday press conference that their home ballpark will be renamed ‘Jefferson Park’ beginning in the 2027 season,” according to the official press release . “The IronPigs have been the Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies since the team’s 2008 launch and will continue to play its home games — at what was formerly called Coca-Cola Park — at Jefferson Park for decades to come.”
The change comes as part of a new partnership with Jefferson, which is building on a relationship between the IronPigs and Lehigh Valley Health Network. The organizations said the partnership will extend beyond the ballpark through community initiatives involving IronPigs Charities and other partners, though it did not disclose the dollar figure involved in the rebrand.
Coca-Cola, meanwhile, will remain an IronPigs partner and continue as the club’s exclusive beverage provider.
Philadelphia Phillies Affiliate Enjoys Record Attendance
The timing of the announcement comes as the IronPigs continue to draw substantial crowds. Their success at the gate has helped make the ballpark an important part of the Lehigh Valley sports landscape, in addition to its role as the Phillies’ top minor league affiliate.
“The IronPigs have led Minor League Baseball in attendance for four consecutive seasons and 10 times overall,” Nick Falsone reported for LehighValleyLive . “The franchise reached 10 million fans faster than any other Minor League team in history.”
Now, that highly attended ballpark will enter the 2027 season under a new identity. Jefferson Park is also expected to host 75 regular-season IronPigs games, more than 40 nights of Illumination and numerous other community events next season, keeping the venue active beyond its connection to the Phillies’ minor league system.
And for a franchise with a fiercely loyal fanbase, notorious home crowd and perennial World Series aspirations, growth for the Triple-A affiliate should be welcomed.
