‘Palworld’ Patch Notes: Big Buffs For Way Less Grinding
Palworld continues to put up hundreds of thousands of concurrent players a night in the wake of its 1.0 release, another smashing success after it stunned everyone with its enormous early access launch. Now, we have a big patch that has gone live today, one that mainly reduces some of the rather brutal endgame grind.
Here are the patch notes for Palworld v1.0.3:
- You can now unlock the Jetragon saddle earlier, and it will cost fewer materials to make it.
- You can now unlock the Aquatic Construction Kit to build on water at level 23 instead of level 66, and it now only costs 1 Ancient Technology Point. They want to see those crazy water bases, it seems.
- Drinking World Tree Holy Water now has a longer effect than it did previously.
- World Tree Holy Water has a 90% reduction in weight from 1 pound to 0.1 pounds.
- World Tree Holy Water is now a reward for World Tree expeditions, fishing in the World Tree and the Large Fishing Pond at base.
- You now get more World Tree Holy Water from Pals in the World Tree area.
- You now get more World Tree Holy Water from Teafant Spring.
- Ancient Armor now costs less work to make.
- Doubled the amount of Fiber from trees (damn, I am always drowning in Fiber).
- Reduced the cost of the Crude Oil Extractor, High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor and Power Generator.
- Increased crude oil production speed of the Oil Extractors.
- You can now use either Oil Extractor to progress the base mission.
After this, there are mostly just bug fixes, and you can check all those out here to see if a specific issue you have has been addressed.
As for the grind nerfs here, clearly a lot of them are focused on World Tree Holy Water, which I have definitely seen as one of the biggest walls in the late, late game of Palworld 1.0 right now. I had to develop a specific farming team with increased elemental drop rewards to farm up Holy Water, but with these buffs, that should produce a ton of Holy Water now. Plus, you will get it from World Tree expeditions, which I am running around the clock anyway. More Holy Water equals more Ingots, and that unlocks a host of increased production of facilities, items, weapons and ammo.
What is not in this patch is any balancing of weapons or Pals or anything like that. I’d like it if there were more strategies able to be opened up in the endgame other than a team pumping up you and your weapons or your team pumping up a single Pal, both purely using passive bonuses instead of Pals that can actually fight. But we’ll see. This is a great patch, however.
