After releasing One UI 9 to millions of Galaxy S25 devices last week , Samsung’s Android 17 update is now landing on the Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra and S24 FE in several countries, according to Samsung update tracker Tarun Vats . The Galaxy A57, one of Samsung’s best selling phones globally, is also now receiving the update.

It’s a fast turnaround because the S24 series only picked up the stable build in Korea on October 6th (where Samsung typically kicks off update releases), which means international owners waited less than a week. Compare that with September, when Samsung pushed back the Galaxy S26 One UI 9 release more than once before it finally arrived.

Which Countries Are Receiving The One UI 9 Update

Asia comes first. In a post on X, Vats said “the global rollout has truly started,” adding that Galaxy S24 owners in Thailand and Indonesia are among those now seeing the download. Galaxy S24 owners on Reddit are reporting seeing the update in Italy, Germany, and India.

Some U.S. owners are reporting receiving the update on Reddit, but it looks like it may initially only be available to carrier-locked phones. There’s no word on when unlocked Galaxy S24 or A57 models will get the update yet.

The Galaxy S24 FE is the surprise addition. It wasn’t included in the Korean release last week, so this appears to be the first stable One UI 9 build for Samsung’s cheaper 2024 flagship anywhere, which Vats says is also now rolling out globally.

To download the update, open Settings, tap Software update, then Download and install. It’s a big file if you’re jumping from One UI 8.5, so connect to Wi-Fi first.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 And Z Flip 6 To Get Their Global One UI 9 Release Soon

Last year’s foldables are close behind. Vats says Samsung is preparing to release stable One UI 9 to Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 owners in India who didn’t join the beta, which points to a wider foldable release soon.

The Galaxy S26 also has more on the way. A new One UI 9 test build has appeared on Samsung’s servers, carrying firmware number S948BXXU5BZJ6 for the international S26 Ultra. Samsung hasn’t explained what it includes, but builds like this normally become a maintenance release with fixes and a fresh security patch.

With the S24 series now joining the S26 and S25, Samsung’s One UI 9 update covers three generations of Galaxy flagships after just a few weeks. The Galaxy S23 should be next, make sure you hit the follow button below to stay on top of the latest tech news.
