Another Sunday and another tricky NYT Connections to solve. If you’re looking for help with today’s puzzling NYT Connections puzzle, this guide is here to help with some extra clues and every connection for the Yellow, Blue, Green and Purple groups.

Here’s the finished puzzle in the order I solved it:

Today’s NYT Connections is a 3/5 on the Connections Bot difficulty scale which feels about right. I was thrown off by some of today’s red herrings. DERBY I tried with SKATE initially, since roller derby is a skating sport. Of course, BLADE could have fit with those also, since rollerblades are a cousink of rollerskates. I also nearly tried TORTILLA with FRIED CHICKEN, but couldn’t come up with four food words (even with BOURBON).

Thankfully, I know my vampire movies and once that was out of the way, the Kentucky words became quite a lot more obvious, though I was admittedly thinking “Southern” rather than Kentucky when I plugged them in. Round, flat things were left alongside the SKATE and SURF words, and once I had the round things out of the way, it was clear the remaining words all needed boards to connect.
