Nimble, a maker of tech accessories which it says are ethically made, has announced a unique new power bank that splits into two halves so you can share the power with someone or charge multiple devices at once.

Nimble Sharepower Design And Specs

Nimble Sharepower is a rectangle of white plastic measuring 3.05 inches by 2.75 inches and is just under one inch thick. It comes with a braided carry handle. It has a small display which shows the charge status of the device as a percentage. But there’s more to the Sharepower than an initial glance suggests.

The battery is in two halves, held together magnetically. Snap them apart and the braided handle is revealed to be a USB-C cable, ready to be inserted into a compatible phone, tablet or other device.

The other half, meanwhile, has four LEDs to show the charge status and contains a USB-C connector folded down inside it. Flip it up and you’re also able to charge USB-C devices.

How The Magnetic Split Power Bank Works

All of which means if you’re with someone whose gadget needs a recharge at the same time as one of yours does, you don’t have to make them wait.

Alternatively, you could charge up to four devices of your own, thanks to those two USB-C connectors and two USB-C ports, one in each half.

Battery Capacity And Charging Speeds

The Sharepower is effectively made up of two 5,000mAh power banks, which combine into a 10,000mAh charger. When the two are snapped together, the power level shows that of the two halves combined.

Separate halves can manage 20W charging speed for one device, or 15W shared for two devices. When it’s put together in one unit, the Sharepower can charge at up to 35W.

Priced at $79.99 from gonimble.com, as well as the white finish it’s available in two translucent-effect colors, liquid crystal blue and liquid crystal pink. All three versions have just gone on sale.
