The wait is over. Arguably the most highly anticipated single-player action title besides Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to release in just over 24 hours. Marvel’s Wolverine might be the title perfectly suited to take you from September to November when Rockstar’s giant makes its dent in the industry and entertainment world. Don’t be shocked if there are people who actually enjoy Wolverine a little more. Let’s talk video games.

Most of the world gets the game at midnight local time. The United States is the exception, unlocking on Eastern time across all four zones, which is why West Coast players start the night before. That also kills the New Zealand region trick. The release is simultaneous rather than midnight-local, so switching your PS5 region gets you nothing.

Some of the early reviews haven’t been strong. The embedded GamesRadar review only gave the game three out of five stars. I’m not really allowing that to deter me from this one. Wolverine’s early gameplay looks like it may walk that line that almost every video game developer aims to create; the action looks simple to grasp, but difficult to master. That’s the kind of mechanic that becomes addictive. There’s enough brutality, real Marvel lore and stunning graphics to make this an automatic pre-order for me.
