Apple has just revealed its latest products, from an iPhone 18 Pro in new colors , to an iPhone that folds in half called the iPhone Duo and new Apple Watches and AirPods. Here’s the latest news on what happens from now on in the run-up to the devices going on sale, including multiple time zones and analysis.

The folding iPhone has had its name confirmed as iPhone Duo, and the keynote also told us when each product would go on sale, and how much they would cost. There were price increases, but some were less than expected and some product prices stayed the same (Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra) or even went down (in the case of one version of AirPods 5).

iPhone 18 Pro Special Event: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9 Confirmed

The special event ran for just over an hour.

This is the fun, fascinating keynote day. Would there be a change to Apple’s favored format of a live introduction to a high-production-value movie? There was not, except for one key detail: the live intro came from the newly installed CEO, John Ternus, not Tim Cook, who handled these things since October 2011, when he announced the iPhone 4s.

iPhone 18 Pro Pre-Orders: 5 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 12 Confirmed

The change in the routine for this date is caused not by the later keynote but the anniversary of the 9/11 attack.

Usually, pre-orders would open at 5 a.m. Pacific on the Friday following the keynote. But the Friday in question is the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, and anyway Apple has avoided doing anything that clashes with Sept. 11 — it’s never held an iPhone keynote on this date, for instance.

So, instead, it has moved the pre-orders to the early the following day, 5 a.m. Pacific on Saturday, Sept. 12. In New York, that means 8 a.m., and in the U.K., 1 p.m. This is a slight change to earlier reports thae a midnight pre-order schedule would apply.

Pre-orders day is important because if there’s a particular model of iPhone, storage capacity and color that you have set your heart on, it’s important to get your order in quick.

Oh, and one more wrinkle: if it’s AirPods 5 that draw your attention, pre-orders opened already. For the AirPods Pro 3 last year, pre-orders began on the day of the keynote and something similar has happened this year for the new AirPods. Apple took the same route with AirPods 4 the year before, as well. As soon as the keynote was over, pre-orders began, with the new AirPods 5 will go on sale on Friday, Sept. 18.

This applies to the entry-level pair of AirPods 5, which cost the same as AirPods 4, $129, but they now have active noise cancellation built in, unlike the previous model. There’s also another AirPods 5 version, with a wireless charging case and longer battery life.

This gives users an extra hour of playback with ANC turned on, and a total of 22 hours of battery life including the charging case, against 20 hours total for the more affordable pair. This pricier model is also available for pre-orders now and will be on sale on Friday, Sept. 18.

iPhone 18 Pro iOS 27 General Release: 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14 Confirmed

Even if you’re not buying a new iPhone, this could be relevant to you as the new software will run on millions of earlier handsets, too.

The general release of the new iPhone software cycle usually happens on the Monday after the keynote, and that’s now confirmed.

As well as the new iPhones, it will also run on earlier models — the same ones that support the current iOS 26 cycle. That means every iPhone from the iPhone 11, released in 2019, onwards. It includes the iPhone SE second- and third-generation models, iPhone Air, iPhone 16e and iPhone 17e.

While iOS and other Apple updates tend to land at 10 a.m. Pacific, look out for this first-of-the-cycle version to land earlier, from about 8 a.m. Pacific, 11 a.m. Eastern and 4 p.m. U.K.

And practice patience when it arrives: millions of people will want to upgrade at the same time. That includes those people who resisted iOS 26 because of issues with the Liquid Glass design, something they may feel they can overcome now that iOS 27 will bring a slider to adjust the transparency of the effect to a detailed level.

iPhone 18 Pro Reviews: 5 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16 To be confirmed

This is another date that could change, and it’s something that won’t be announced by Apple, unlike the iOS and pre-orders dates.

If you want to wait to see what the press thinks before committing to a purchase, then Tuesday, Sept. 15 is likely the day you can read the first reviews.

Since the keynote is a day later this year than last, it’s likely the reviews has been pushed by 24 hours as well, though it’s still possible that the Tuesday review date Apple favored last year could still be used this time. let’s remember there are also the Apple Watch and AirPods reviews to land as well, and Apple likes to space them out for maximum effect. My money’s on a Wednesday review day for the iPhone, with reviews for Apple Watch and AirPods on Thursday, Sept. 17.

Last year, reviews went live at 5 a.m. Pacific (Apple obviously thinks Californians, for instance, are early risers), 8 a.m. Eastern and 1 p.m. in the U.K.

iPhone 18 Pro On-Sale Date: 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18 Confirmed

This is the easiest date in the schedule to predict — the newly announced flagship iPhones always go on sale on the Friday in the week after the keynote.

The 8 a.m. moment is when stores will likely open (Apple has so far only confirmed the date, not the time) and that means it’s a local time. Which also means that the first photos of people proudly clutching an iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 18 Pro Max are likely to come from places like Australia, as the stores there will open many hours before the one in Apple Park, for instance.

Note that the iPhone Duo is coming later, on Friday, Oct. 23, with pre-orders opening a week earlier, on Friday, Oct. 16. All the other products are scheduled for Sept. 18.
