On Wednesday morning, Steam suffered one of its worst leaks in recent memory when well over 125 games had their achievements posted online. While that may not sound like a big deal at first glance, the problem is that many of these games have not yet been released or even announced. Additionally, achievements can also be named in a way that spoils certain parts of a game or even story elements, and that’s what’s happened today with big titles like Kingdom Hearts 4 and Persona 6.

The leak covers upcoming games across the PC, Xbox and PlayStation spectrum, titles like Fable and H orizon Hunter’s Gathering . There are unnamed, unannounced games on the list, a Dune game, a Star Wars game, a Sonic game, an Avengers game and even ALF and Twin Peaks games. There have been many memes involving a revealed game called Penis Bird . As it stands, close to 20 unreleased games have been leaked inside the list of 125.

The Kingdom Hearts and Persona leaks appear to be the worst, given that not much has been revealed about either, and the achievements spoil some big developments. Spoilers follow , as many fans are upset about the reveal or exhausted trying to mute, say, every Disney property on Twitter to avoid the spoilers.

Kingdom Hearts 4 is now confirmed to be using Disney’s Star Wars characters for the first time, something that had not been previously revealed, along with other characters and locations. Persona 6 had the name of dungeons, its setting, the main group and new mechanics leaked, along with the Velvet Room attendant.

How did this happen? That’s still being sorted out, but it’s something involving a bug that allowed these achievements to be accessible through Steam’s API, which many third-party sites like Steamdb and Exophase use to track information from user scores to playercounts to achievements.

This is a very, very big deal in the industry, considering how closely guarded game and content reveals are, metered out with exact announcement schedules and marketing campaigns. This throws all of that into the air as for many of these. Huge portions of the game meant to be kept under wraps, in many instances even until launch, are now out there. It depends on the game and the names of the achievements, though obviously some are a bigger deal than others, namely the two heavy-hitters previously mentioned.

Steam has not commented on the leak yet, as we are in the first few hours since it happened. We have also not seen any developers affected issue statements just yet, but no doubt those are coming soon. What a mess.
