It’s a busy weekend. There’s a new season of Fortnite out and the big Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta. That means I won’t just be playing puzzle games, I’ll be diving into all sorts of games, many of the shooting-enemy-players-with-guns variety. But for now, dominoes!

Looking for Thursday ’ s Pips? Read our guide right here.

In Pips, you have a grid of multi=-colored boxes. Each colored area represents a different “condition” that you have to achieve. You have a select number of dominoes that you have to spend filling in the grid. You must use every domino and achieve every condition properly to win. There are Easy, Medium and Difficult tiers.

Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase

Here’s an example of a difficult tier Pips:

As you can see, the grid has a bunch of symbols and numbers with each color. On the far left, the three purple squares must not equal one another (hence the equal sign crossed out). The two pink squares next to that must equal a total of 0. The zig-zagging blue squares all must equal one another. You click on dominoes to rotate them, and will need to since they have to be rotated to fit where they belong.

Not shown on this grid are other conditions, such as “less than” or “greater than.” If there are multiple tiles with > or < signs, the total of those tiles must be greater or less than the listed number. It varies by grid. Blank spaces can have anything. The various possible conditions are:

  • = All pips must equal one another in this group.
  • ≠ All pips must not equal one another in this group.
  • > The pip in this tile (or tiles) must be greater than the listed number.
  • < The pip in this tile must be less than the listed number.
  • An exact number (like 6) The pip must equal this exact number.
  • Tiles with no conditions can be anything.

In order to win, you have to use up all your dominoes by filling in all the squares, making sure to fit each condition. Sometimes there’s only one way to solve the puzzle. Other times, there can be two or more different solutions. Play today’s Pips puzzle here .

Today’s Pips Solutions And Walkthrough

Below are the solutions for the Easy and Medium tier Pips. After that, I’ll walk you through the Hard puzzle. Spoilers ahead.

Hard Pips Walkthrough And Solution

Here’s today’s Hard Pips:

We have another isolated ≠ group today, which is always a little trickier. You basically have to end there, so if you get to that point and have even a single repeating pip, it’s back to the drawing board. We have several doubles we’ll for sure need to dispense with, and we can get rid of three of them in the “O” of today’s Hard Pips word, PESO. The giveaway is the two large groups, Green > 15 and Purple > 10. Let’s begin!

Place the 1/3 domino from Blue < 2 into Pink = and the 3/3 domino in the next two Pink = tiles. The 3/6 domino goes from Pink = into Green > 15 and the 5/5 domino sits directly next to that. It’s the only domino other than 6/6 that could get us above 15 and we need the 6/6 domino for Purple > 10 since it’s the only domino that will work here at all.

Move to the “E” and we’ll divest ourselves of another double. The 3/4 domino goes from Orange 3 into Purple = with the 4/4 domino in the next two Purple = tiles. The 4/2 goes from Purple 4 into Pink < 3. Now drop that 2/2 domino over in Blue = at the top of the “P”.

The 5/1 domino goes from Green 5 into Dark Blue = and the 1/6 domino goes below that from Dark Blue = into Blue > 3. Move back to the “E” and here we’ll get rid of the one Pip that won’t fit in the Dark Blue ≠ group: The number 3 pip. Place the 2/3 domino fro Orange < 3 into Purple = and the 3/5 domino from Purple = into Pink > 3.

Now you have three dominoes left: 4/1, 2/5 and 0/6 and you can put them any which way in the Dark Blue ≠ “S” group. And you’re done!

Have a fantabulous Friday, Pipsqueaks!
