Hilary Duff has announced the Lucky Me Tour, which stops at London’s The O2 on Thursday, September 10 and Tuesday, September 15, 2026. Leaning into a Y2K-inspired aesthetic full of leotards and nostalgic flashbacks to the era, Duff has also become known for her glow. Her rock-hard abs are the result of Ladder workouts and a balanced diet, but fans, especially millennials, are just as fixated on her radiant skin and makeup. Behind that look is celebrity makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan Fisher, Duff's longtime lead glam artist, who crafts her signature luminous style for red carpets, magazine covers and concert tours alike.

Hilary Duff’s Skin Prep Routine Starts In Advance

Touring means back-to-back shows with little recovery time, so Deenihan treats skin prep as a chance to replenish rather than pile on more product. "Between the stage lights, sweat, makeup and removal, her skin has already been through a lot, so I want everything to feel calming, hydrating and restorative," Deenihan explains over email.

Working with Rodan + Fields, her go-to line, Deenihan starts with the REDEFINE pore refining toner to balance the skin and create a smooth base. Next comes the redefine multi-function eye cream, which hydrates the under-eye area so concealer sits evenly instead of settling into fine lines. She follows up with the Pure C serum for brightness, then locks everything in with the redefine triple defense cream SPF 30. The final step is the lip renewing serum, applied early so it has time to absorb before lip color goes on.

For those at home, you don't need a full ten-step routine to get this effect. Focus on a toner or essence, an eye cream, a vitamin C serum for brightness and a moisturizer with SPF. Give each layer a minute or two to sink in before moving to the next one so your skin stays smooth rather than slippery.

How To Make Makeup Last Longer, According To Hilary Duff's Artist

Longevity is the biggest challenge on tour, and Deenihan says it starts well before foundation goes on. "For me, longevity starts before foundation ever touches the face. The goal is hydrated skin, but not skin that feels overly rich or slippery," she says. She points to the Pure C serum specifically for giving skin a plump base "without leaving a heavy residue underneath makeup." As she puts it, "When the skin is properly hydrated and the skincare has had time to absorb, makeup products sit better, move less and continue to look like skin even after hours of performing."

Concert prep also differs from a typical red carpet, gala or press day, which allows for more immediate glow since the makeup won't face the same heat and movement. For high-activity events, Deenihan adjusts. "For a concert, I'm much more conscious of the weight and texture of every layer. I want hydration underneath, but I don't want a lot of excess product sitting on the surface of the skin," she says.

At-home tip. If you're heading somewhere active, whether that's a night out dancing or a long workday, skip heavy creams under makeup. Let your skincare fully absorb, then use thin layers of base product instead of one heavy application. Setting spray helps, but it works best on skin that wasn't overloaded to begin with.

Hilary Duff’s Eye Makeup Look Screams Glam

Duff’s eye look needs to photograph well from a distance while still holding up under sweat and stage lights, which calls for more definition than a typical daytime look. "Stage makeup needs a little more intensity because so much can disappear under lighting and from a distance, so I concentrated depth around the lash line and added dimension through the crease," Deenihan explains.

Her signature look features a neutral, warm brown base with a fine pink or silver shimmer at the center of the lid or inner corners, paired with dark brown eyeliner, volumizing waterproof mascara, false lashes, a liquid highlighter and bronzer.

At-home tip. For a version you can wear anywhere, concentrate your darkest shadow along the lash line rather than sweeping it across the whole lid. Add a touch of shimmer only to the center of the lid for a lifted, dimensional effect without looking overdone.

Hilary Duff’s Lip Color Approach Can Be Achieved Easily

For the lips, Deenihan prioritizes wearability over precision. "For the lip, I wanted something that still felt like Hilary and complemented the bronzed , glowing skin rather than competing with it. For a performance, I think about maintenance much more than I would for a shoot." Unlike a photoshoot, where touchups are constant, a two-hour set requires a formula that fades gracefully. “On a shoot I can constantly perfect the lip during touchups. Onstage, I want something that looks just as beautiful when it's lived in a little bit.”

At-home tip. Choose a lip stain or tinted balm over a heavy matte formula if you’re planning a long day or night out. It will fade evenly instead of wearing off in patches, so you still look put together hours later just like Hilary Duff.
