How This Smart AI Projector Turns Spoken Ideas Into Kids Art Outlines
The AI toys market is on the rise, and it was evident at IFA 2026. Every hall had at least a few devices positioned as AI companions for adults or children. One of them was the Luka Kids AI Drawing Projector, which can convert a child’s spoken prompt into a drawing outline using ultra short-throw projection.
Luka Kids is using AI to get children started but doesn’t want to kill their creativity in the process. It lets a child describe their idea out loud. The device then projects the drawing outline on paper, so children can pick up the pencil, trace it, and finish the drawing themselves.
It is a cool idea because the AI doesn’t give them the whole thing; it expects them to pick up a pencil and do the rest. It deliberately leaves space for children to add their own imagination.
These features are divided into three modes: Drawing Prompts , Interactive Story Adventures , and Voice-to-Art . The first one offers 384 built-in templates across seven series to offer a clear beginning while leaving room for customization. The second one uses the included figurine to unlock 30 story episodes. It pauses the stories to let the child draw characters, scenes, or solutions. Lastly, the Voice-to-Art mode lets children describe an idea, which the AI then turns into a starting line for them to complete.
As reported by TNW , AI toys can have negative consequences, but Luka’s projector sidesteps most of them by not holding a conversation. Notably, AI guardrails become more important for children since they are adopting AI three times faster than adults, according to a UNICEF analysis . It says, “more than 2 million children – or 1 in 10 – said they turn to AI for advice on things that worry them, and an estimated 13 million children said they use it to support their learning and homework.”
Luka Kids hasn’t announced the price for its Drawing Projector. It is scheduled to launch later this year.
