Honor Watch 6 Shows Up Samsung And Apple With XL Capacity Battery
Honor has announced the western release of the Honor Watch 6, following its Chinese announcement in late May 2026.
While the Honor Watch 6 is not expected to get a U.S. release, the Honor Watch 6 sells for £229.99 (black) or £249.99 (brown) in the UK, equivalent to around $331 in a direct currency conversion. It is also available at a £70 “early bird” discount, bringing it to £159.99/£179.99, until June 30.
The brown edition costs a little more as it has a steel case and steel bezel in place of a steel bezel and aluminium case, seen in the black version. It also has a part-leather strap.
Initially the Honor Watch 6 is likely to seem familiar to those with some experience of this series. It’s an OLED screen watch with a round display and metal casing — much like 2025’s Honor Watch 5 Pro .
Battery capacity is this generation’s major leap. The Honor Watch 6 has a 980mAh battery, compared to just 515mah in the Watch 5 Pro, despite being fractionally slimmer at 10.8mm thickness. It’s significantly thicker at the sensor mound, but this is the one dimension Honos provides.
This high battery capacity allows for 35-day battery life, where around two weeks is the traditional standard for this style of watch. However that top claim relates to “long-endurance usage scenarios” where “typical” usage is expected to see around 17-day stamina.
Other features of the Honor Watch 6 include dual-band GPS, peak 3,000-nit brightness, a microphone with noice note feature and NFC for wireless payments.
The most interesting part of this watch is perhaps in considering when its high density battery tech may come to more power-hungry watches, like the Apple Watch Ultra .
Apple’s Watch Ultra 3 has battery capacity of around 599mAh. A jump to 980mAh would represent at 63 per cent increase, and quite probably the biggest increase to real-world stamina since the series’s inception.
There is another question mark over when non-Chinese companies like Apple and Samsung will more aggressively adopt these higher-capacity battery technologies.
While Honor has not stated what kind of battery composition the Watch 6 uses, a Silicon-Carbon design has been at the root of recent jumps in phone battery capacity. The Honor 600 Pro for example, has a 7000mAh battery despite being just 7.8mm thick.
That’s far higher than the estimated 4823mAh of the thicker Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max .
Rumours indicate the iPhone 18 Pro Max will not get a major battery capacity upgrade later this year either. This is not the only area in which Samsung and Apple have played things safe either. Where Chinese phone makers have for years now offered extremely high charging rates — Huawei’s Nova 9 Pro charged at up to 100W almost five years ago — Apple’s charging standard for phones still tap out at 40W.
The Honor Watch 6 is available to order in the UK and European markets now.
