Pearl Abyss has been known for their lightning fast, extremely substantive Crimson Desert patches, but after last night’s biggest-ever one , perhaps they went a bit too fast this time.

Crimson Desert players logged in after release to try out many of the new updates, but they found that a bunch of things were missing or broken, and Pearl Abyss has acknowledged a few of the issues . But far from all of them. Here’s the ongoing list of problems you may have run into:

  • A lot of mounts are missing, including legendary ones and even the dragon. Also you will sometimes summon random horses instead of your main one. This is the one that Pearl Abyss has specifically said they’re working on.
  • A new phoenix mount (awesome!) is unable to be used (not awesome!).
  • The house building system has been extremely messed up where you can’t actually build things inside of it sometimes, and some of the new types of houses aren’t working.
  • Players who have beaten the game are now seeing their save files showing Chapter 2 (no progress has been lost, however).
  • I believe you may have to manually reset comrade missions to restart instead of it being automatically selected like it was previously.
  • Reputation with Greymane vendors has been wiped out. The special contracts you get from other vendors for use there are broken.
  • Dying has broken on Greymane armor where you cannot dye all of it any more.
  • Some Greymanes are permanently dispatched without an actual running mission so you cannot use them.
  • Vault does not work well with the new controls, other combos have been made worse.
  • The Cloud Cart has disappeared and another one cannot be built.
  • Arrows are not automatically equipped after loading a save, and it doesn’t remember the last type you used.
  • Increased draw distance detail actually seems worse at times with more pop-in.
  • Performance issues across all platforms.

So yeah, this is not great, and some of these are pretty close to gamebreaking, or at least preventing you from using a lot of the new additions that were supposed to be in this patch. While no patch is perfect, I have not seen anything like this before from Pearl Abyss, though granted, this is the biggest patch they’ve ever done. There is far more going wrong with the game right now than just the missing mount issue they’ve acknowledged, and hopefully we get a timeline on fixes soon. My guess is that will happen very quickly, given the speed they do these things, but they may need to dial it back a bit in the future for further testing when it comes to patches of this size. I’m not even going to go play until a lot of this is fixed.
