I’ve covered video games and have been immersed in the industry for more than three decades and I cannot remember a time when PC gaming was more relevant. Mods and DLSS 5 are dominating social media feeds answering questions gaming communities have been asking developers and publishers while producing results some never even considered.

With Grand Theft Auto 6’s release approaching and preparing to change gaming even more than its buildup already has, the PC launch — especially with any DLSS support and modding — will create an even deeper impression across the entire gaming landscape. If you’re wanting to get GTA 6 on PC, you’ll have to wait until after it releases on console on November 19. Rockstar hasn’t announced a PC release date or official system requirements, so here’s what we know so far and the build I’d recommend. Let’s talk video games.

Rockstar has not announced a PC release date or official system requirements for GTA 6. The game is confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only.

On Take-Two’s May 21 earnings call, CEO Strauss Zelnick said all of the company’s games eventually come to all platforms , without committing to a PC date. Take-Two’s fiscal 2027 slate, which runs through March 31, 2027, includes one unnamed platform extension that some outlets have tied to a GTA 6 PC release. Until Rockstar publishes official requirements, any GTA 6 PC spec list, including the builds below, is a recommendation, not a requirement.

If you’re going to play GTA 6 on PC and really experience it on a different level — especially if you plan on creating content, I’d shoot for the stars once official requirements arrive if your wallet can take the pressure. I’ve done some research and this is what I’d recommend on the high end and with no compromise and you’re willing to go all out.

Recommended GTA 6 PC Builds (Unofficial)

The RTX 5090 is pretty much the gold standard if you want top-notch visuals. The 64GB of RAM is enough to handle just about anything, but if you really want to be unimpeded for the near and somewhat distant future, doubling that is a boss move. As always, the processor is going to be important. I have become a Ryzen guy. The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D delivers the punch you need to game, record on OBS or another capture software and it can handle you running a few more apps in the background.

For storage, go big. You don’t want less than 4TB. Capture files in 4K are huge especially if you’re recording extended videos. Don’t get caught having to play the storage space game. Last but not least, NVIDIA’s dedicated NVENC allows you to record or stream without relying on the CPU, which should kill any frame drops during capture.
