Battlestate Games has announced that the prestige feature will be added to the PvE Escape From Tarkov game mode in the next patch, which is set to launch in a few weeks.

The 1.2.0.0 patch for Escape From Tarkov is expected to be one of the larger patches since Tarkov launched last year, and one of the big additions, for PvE players at least, is the highly anticipated release of the prestige system. While the prestige system has been available for PvP players for some time, it has not been implemented in the PvE game mode yet.

That will change when the 1.2.0.0 patch launches, which is expected to happen towards the end of September or early October, according to the most recent roadmap . The prestige system will work in much the same way as the PvP mode, where players will be able to reset their progress after reaching a certain point in the game in exchange for some exclusive rewards. The big change for the PvE system is that those rewards will be slightly different compared to the PvP version, and will only be available through PvE.

As revealed on social media, there will be a number of PvE specific rewards including exclusive versions of the NKVD Finka knife, Akula dagger, and Gamma secure container. Players will only be able to earn these by prestigeing in PvE, meaning any PvP or seasonal players who want these rewards will have to start up a PvE character when the next patch drops.

PvE players will also be able to earn TarCoin through the prestige system, meaning they could unlock game expansions just through playing the game and prestigeing. However, given you’ll need to have paid for the PvE expansion in the first place, currently that offer might not be as enticing as it could be.

The addition of the prestige system will finally bring the PvE game mode to almost be feature complete compared to the main PvP mode, something fans have been asking for since it launched. But the 1.2.0.0 patch notes will also bring more PvE changes to make the mode even better, with changes to bot AI and the spawn system expected to improve how the AI PMCs behave

The 1.2.0.0 patch will be the latest Escape From Tarkov patch that brings even more new features to the game, following the last patch that added a new league ranking system . It has gone down slightly better than I initially expected, but fans will obviously be looking for bigger PvP changes over the coming weeks.
