‘Escape From Tarkov’ Patch Notes Feature Major Lighthouse Overhaul
The latest set of Escape From Tarkov patch notes have revealed a massive overhaul to the Lighthouse map, which sees the infamous Rogues move away from the Water Treatment plant that they have occupied for years.
The Escape From Tarkov patch 1.1.5.0 is being installed right now, and the patch notes have already been released giving us a look at some massive changes. The main focus of the update is the Lighthouse map, which gets a much needed rework given how annoying it can be to play.
On Lighthouse the biggest change comes to the Rogues, the NPCs that have typically occupied the Water Treatment plant and shot at anyone that comes close. Now, instead of occupying the plant, they have moved to the mountain chalets and their massive mounted weapons have been removed from the plant.
To compensate for their new location , there have been some changes to the main road and mountain areas of the map. All landmines have been removed from the road, and more cover has been added, so now if the Rogues start shooting at you from above you can at least hide and run if wanted. New underground passages have also been added in the mountain area, which should make moving around undetected a little easier.
It feels like the purpose of these changes are to make the map a little easier to play. Lighthouse was a notorious difficulty spike for new players when they needed to start playing it, so hopefully these changes and making it easier to enter the Water Treatment plant will make the map somewhat easier for players.
Elsewhere in the 1.1.5.0 patch notes the Lightkeeper access task chain has been reworked. To get access to the task chain players must now Gain access to Lighthouse through the “Tour” storyline, have Loyalty Level 3 with all traders except Fence and Ref and ask Mechanic about the possibility of working with Lightkeeper. It still won’t be easy to unlock this task chain, but it should be less repetitive to unlock.
Rounding out the patch notes are some balancing changes and a big list of fixes, which will obviously be welcomed by all players. It’s not the biggest patch in the world, but with the Escape From Tarkov roadmap promising another big update towards the end of the month the changes will likely be coming thick and fast over the coming weeks.
