Copenhagen-based EPOS Audio has announced the launch of its new IMPACT 400 Wireless, a Bluetooth headset that’s been built specifically for open-plan offices and hybrid work environments. The device joins the existing wired IMPACT 400 models and is the first major launch since the company was acquired by ACCO Brands earlier this year.

The IMPACT 400 Wireless features an adjustable boom microphone utilizing AI-driven environmental noise reduction. According to EPOS, in third-party laboratory tests adhering to the Microsoft Azure Speech Test Specification, the voice pickup technology attained a 99% word-recognition rate in noisy test setups. This level of clarity is designed to improve daily communication while optimizing spoken audio inputs for AI tools and automated workflows.

The new headset carries official certification for Microsoft Teams, including the strict Premium Microphone for Open Office specification. It is also certified across major communication platforms, including Zoom Workplace, Google Meet, and Webex by Cisco.

Battery Performance and Wireless Connectivity

To simplify call handling, the microphone boom can be adjusted for left- or right-sided wear. Lowering the boom automatically answers a call and unmutes the microphone; raising it again mutes the microphone for privacy.

EPOS engineers designed the IMPACT 400 for multi-day usage without mid-day recharges. The headset delivers up to 39 hours of talk time with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) turned on and the integrated busy light enabled. Turning ANC off extends talk time to up to 47 hours. For media playback, listening times reach up to 63 hours on a single charge with ANC enabled, or up to 110 hours with ANC disabled.

Connectivity is powered by Bluetooth 6.0 and Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) Audio, leveraging the LC3 codec to capture more natural voice clarity and superior audio quality compared to standard SBC. Integrated Multipoint connectivity allows simultaneous pairing with two Bluetooth devices, enabling seamless transitions between PC softphones and mobile calls.

For fast battery top-ups, a 20-minute quick charge delivers up to 12 hours of talk time, while a full recharge via the provided USB-C cable takes approximately two hours. The headset boasts a wireless operating range of up to 30 meters (98 feet) and ships with a BTD 400c USB-C dongle along with a USB-C-to-USB-A adapter for multi-device compatibility.

Ergonomics, Serviceability and IT Management

Weighing just 145g, the lightweight headset features breathable leatherette ear pads and folds flat for easy transport between workspaces. Workplace distractions are minimized via hybrid ANC powered by EPOS’s proprietary BrainAdapt audio technology.

Direct physical controls sit on the earcup to manage calls, volume levels, ANC modes, and Microsoft Teams integration. To lower total cost of ownership and promote sustainability, the IMPACT 400 has been designed with end-user serviceability in mind: both the ear pads and the internal battery can be replaced without tools, extending the product’s lifespan.

End users can customize settings and apply firmware updates via the EPOS Connect app, while IT administrators can deploy updates and manage headset fleets centrally using EPOS Manager software.

The new headset anchors the middle tier of the EPOS enterprise range, bridging the gap between basic wired models and flagship series like the IMPACT 500 and 1000.
