In around a month, the batteries of thousands of mobile phones around the world will take an absolute battering. That’s because Dave the Diver , Mintrocket’s runaway hit and arguably the best hunting-sushi restaurant hybrid game ever made, finally comes to iOS and Android.

The fact that the RPG management sim, which first arrived in 2023 for Mac, PC and Switch, before ports to PlayStation in 2024 and Xbox in 2025, took so long to finally arrive on mobile platforms is probably an even bigger surprise than its rampant success, but today, Mintrocket confirmed it was finally happening on September 17.

It won’t be just the base game coming, either; iOS and Android players will also be able to grab the In the Jungle expansion, as well as its crossover with indie darling Dredge , which itself made it to mobile in spectacular fashion back in March 2025 .

Dave the Diver Digital Extra , which is currently available on Steam for $10 and offers a unique boat skin, art book, and soundtrack, will also be given for free to mobile players who buy the base game.

The longer wait for Dave the Diver on Android and iOS is due to a few new quality-of-life upgrades and optimizations designed specifically for handheld devices, chief among them the often frustrating tea-pouring motion at Bancho Sushi, which uses gyro tilt control. There’s also a three-level view distance option; Dave will also be able to fast travel to different NPCs in a specific section of the map, meaning progression is quicker.

For me, it’s the only thing I think I’d regret buying more than that time, in a moment of weakness, I got Balatro on sale before heading on holiday to Finland, then wondered why my phone was always absolutely dead by 2pm. At least you can mostly put Balatro down after a failed run, but days turn into nights into days into nights with Dave.
