Curbee Partners With Top Florida Dealership to Revolutionize Mobile Auto Service
Curbee, which provides mobile service technology for auto dealers, said its tech has been selected by a major Florida dealership.
Bozard Ford Lincoln in St. Augustine, Florida, performs more than 2,000 mobile service appointments a month. It has a fleet of 40 service vehicles.
Bozard will now utilize Curbee technology, California-based Curbee said in a statement.
Increasingly routine services for cars and trucks at a consumer’s home via mobile units is occurring. Curbee said the scope of Bozard’s mobile service operation forced it to improve its tech.
“Bozard challenged us to think differently, move faster and build new capabilities that will improve mobile service for every Curbee dealer,” company CEO Amit Chandarana said in the statement. “This wasn’t simply winning a customer, it was earning the trust of the dealership that has defined what automotive mobile service can become.”
Traditionally, vehicle owners took their cars and trucks to dealerships, garages and other providers of service for such things as oil changes, tire rotation, battery replacement, and work related to recalls. The time needed for such services can vary. Vehicle owners either waited while tasks were performed or arranged to have rides until such work was completed.
Advocates of mobile service say it can be more convenient and save time for vehicle owners. In addition, vehicles are increasingly computers on wheels. They sometimes require software updates, similar to personal computers and smartphones. Such updates can be provided by mobile service units.
Bozard executives said Curbee technology can improve its mobile service operations.
“Innovation is the key to distinguishing ourselves as leaders,” Bozard COO and General Manager Ed Roberts said in the statement. “If we're going to continue extending our lead, we have to keep challenging ourselves to improve. Curbee shares our vision for innovation. They've been incredibly responsive to our needs, and they have the flexibility to grow alongside us.”
The Florida dealership has operated mobile service since 2015.
Curbee’s tech is called Mobile and Remote Service. The company says its software ensures service vans use correct routes and are equipped with the proper parts.
Service vans are a lower cost way for dealerships to perform vehicle service. Curbee estimates a dealership can start mobile service for about $20,000 per unit compared with $200,000 or more to construct a new dealership service bay.
