Apple is going to announce the iPhone 18 in the coming weeks, with the launch of a new set of devices in September. It comes after possibly the final software updates for iPhones until iOS 27 were released, including iOS 26.6.1.

Apple has now updated its list of obsolete iPhones — older models that will no longer receive security updates .

Apple has updated its list of obsolete iPhones to include the iPhone X, according to its support page . Apple discontinues all hardware service for obsolete products and service providers cannot order parts for obsolete products, according to Apple. When an iPhone is obsolete, it no longer receives security updates . That means if you use one of the iPhones on this list, it is no longer secure.

Apple’s Vintage iPhones List

Apple also lists its vintage iPhones, meaning they do receive some limited security fixes and can be repaired if parts are available, but they are on their way to becoming obsolete and are much less secure than their newer counterparts.
