With sales of Mac mini M4s and MacBook Neos exceeding all expectations, a market for Mac-friendly external displays has been ignited. Apple’s own 5K 27-inch Studio Display is proving popular, despite its price tag, while more affordable and larger alternatives like the new Alogic 32-inch 5K Clarity Max Pro display is also selling well.

Now BenQ is joining in with the launch of the MA320UG , a new 32-inch 4K 120Hz monitor engineered for Mac users who need to move between work productivity, creativity and entertainment. The new display is the first 120Hz model in BenQ’s MA Series for Mac and its high refresh rate means smoother motion and responsiveness when scrolling through long documents, editing video content or gaming.

The MA320UG is designed to give Mac users a screen with more fluid motion, consistent Mac color and intuitive controls in one display. The specs include Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, Smart KVM, Nano Gloss panel and BenQ’s Mac color-tuning technology. BenQ says the MA320UG is designed to feel like a natural extension of a MacBook, Mac mini, Mac Studio or other Apple-powered setups.

“Today’s Mac users expect one setup to handle it all, and the MA320UG is the perfect answer for those users,” says Jeffrey Hsieh, head of the consumer line of business at BenQ. “The MA320UG combines 120Hz performance with matching Mac colors, intuitive controls and the flexible connectivity that Mac users depend on to work, create, and unwind.”

Color consistency on an external monitor has often been a frustrating pain point for Mac users. The MA320UG solves this by simulating the display to match the Mac device’s color output. BenQ claims that no manual adjustments are required out of the box. By covering 98% of the P3 wide color gamut with a Nano Gloss panel and a 2000:1 contrast ratio, the MA320UG is tuned to produce the same vivid colors Mac users see on a MacBook or iMac display.

With a refresh rate of 120Hz, the MA320UG’s panel has a smoother and more responsive appearance with daily tasks. Whether reviewing documents, scrolling through creative timelines, streaming content or connecting a gaming console for casual play, the BenQ says the MA320UG adds fluid motion to the Mac-optimized color and control that its MA Series of displays is known for.

The MA320UG has a silver finish and minimalist design which matches the look of Apple’s Mac lineup. The stand is fully adjustable and rubber base pads protect against scratching desk surfaces. The 32-inch 4K panel provides a lot more room for multitasking than Apple’s 27-inch studio display.

The display also supports BenQ’s Display Pilot 2 software, which gives Mac users some simple controls over key display settings. For example, there is iKeyboard Control which can be used to adjust brightness and volume levels using an Apple Magic keyboard. The brightness level between a MacBook and the MA320UG can be synced with automatic adjustment using the MacBook’s light sensor or the MA monitor’s Visual Optimizer sensor.

Other features include FocuSync, which automatically shifts display settings to match the active Mac Focus mode, such as Work, Do Not Disturb, Sleep and more. The Smart KVM function lets the user control two systems from one keyboard and mouse, making it easier to move between a MacBook, Mac mini or secondary device.

The screen also has Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, 96W power delivery so that all signals, including laptop power, can be provided by one cable. Daisy chaining supports flexible dual-monitor setups with a single cable connection between displays, while Picture-by-Picture lets used view input from multiple devices simultaneously
