Apple iPhone 18 Pro Event: Latest September Keynote Predictions
This looks set to be a big year for Apple. Its next special event is a shoo-in for September and it’s expected to reveal the iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max, the first foldable iPhone and two new Apple Watches — plus, perhaps the AirPods with cameras that have just been detailed by Apple itself. So, when can we expect to hear about the keynote? Here’s the latest.
iPhone 18 Pro: Keynote Date Predicted For Sept. 9
The date of the keynote has been a matter of some debate, but informed guesses are coalescing on one day.
If you know when the keynote will be, you can work out when it will be announced. I’ve been saying for months now that I think the date in question is Wednesday, Sept. 9. Most other analysts disagreed but seem to be coming round to it, including Mark Gurman from Bloomberg.
And Tom’s Guide seems to agree. “For the last several years, Apple has held its iPhone launch event in the second week of September, and usually on a Tuesday. This would normally mean that Apple would hold its 2026 event on Tuesday, Sept. 8. However, the preceding Monday is Labor Day, so Apple will likely push the event to Wednesday, Sept. 9,” it said.
When Will Apple Send Invites For The iPhone 18 Pro Event?
Apple’s customary way to reveal its keynote is coming is by sending invitations to press and special guests — with a suitably cryptic illustration on the invite.
As 9to5Mac pointed out, Apple used to announce the keynote date seven days before it took place, which would be Sept. 2 this time around. However, from 2022 onwards, for the last four years, it has consistently sent out invites to the keynote exactly two weeks before.
That means we should hear about the announcement on Wednesday, Aug. 26. I think that’s most likely the date. But I have one extra thought.
iPhone 18 Pro Keynote: One More Thing
Apple doesn’t like to be predictable, so it could move from the two-weeks-before cadence this year.
The only reason that the keynote will be on a Wednesday this year, as mentioned above, is because Labor Day falls on the Monday. If it didn’t, I’m certain that the keynote would be on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Which would mean the keynote announcement would have been on Tuesday, Aug. 25.
Since it’s only for the convenience of avoiding Labor Day that the special event is 24 hours later, there’s no reason why Apple shouldn’t unveil the keynote date on the Tuesday two weeks earlier.
So, there’s also the possibility that the keynote could be confirmed, with invites sent to guests on Tuesday, Aug. 25.
I’m sure it will be one or the other, and I’ll be covering the announcement whenever it is, so please check back. Meantime, for the full schedule of the iPhone 18 Pro and other products, please read this .
