Amazfit has announced yet more new watches following the Cheetah 2 series, this time focusing on “hybrid athletes” with the Amazfit Balance 3 and Balance Ultra.

While many of these watches’ features will seem familiar to those who own a fitness watch, Amazfit’s key pitch is of a Hybrid Training System that offers an overview of both your training and your body’s state.

In the Amazfit Balance 3’s Zepp companion app you’ll see BioCharge, LifeLoad and Training Load stats. And their data is pulled together into a HybridCharge stat.

The underlying concepts here are nothing new, but the interpretation of them is intended to provide “clearer direction” as to how watch data should translate into real-world choices and advice. One key demographic Amazfit aims for is Hyrox fans — the brand signed a three-year partnership with Hyrox earlier in 2026.

Amazfit Balance 3 And Ultra

Back to the hardware, one of the crucial questions here is how the Amazfit Balance 3 and Balance Ultra are different to the recent Cheetah 2 Pro and Cheetah 2 Ultra, and the T-Rex 3 series.

From a very top-level perspective, the T-Rex are Amazfit’s outdoors watches. Cheetah is the running series, while Balance is about generalised structured training, making it the most urban-friendly, all-rounder family. They are stylistically somewhat similar to the Garmin Fenix 8 Pro range, and have comparable features too.

The Amazfit Balance 3 series has perhaps a slightly less sporty appearance than those the other Amazfit ranges. But all three are relatively high-end watches that will do the job for any fairly serious athlete, and their feature overlap is substantial.

Both the Amazfit Balance 3 and Balance Ultra have 1.5-inch AMOLED screens rated for 3,000-nit peak brightness. They are large 51.8mm diameter watches with 10ATM water resistance and waterproofing suitable for “recreational scuba diving.” Either has 64GB storage, with support for offline maps

The differences include a thicker watch body in the Balance Ultra, in order to house a larger battery. It’s rated for up to 30 days of use in the Balance Ultra, compared to 21 days in the Balance 3.

Amazfit’s Balance Ultra has a titanium bezel as standard, where you pay extra for an upsell from stainless steel in the Balance 3. The Ultra also has an additional fifth button on the left side of the body, and includes a second strap in the box. But is it worth the extra money?

The Amazfit Balance 3 stainless steel and Balance Ultra are available to pre-order now for $359.99 and $599.99 respectively, with shipping expected in mid-June. A titanium version of the Balance 3 will cost $449.99, and is “coming soon” according to Amazfit.
