The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet is underway at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Music’s biggest stars are arriving alongside actors, TV personalities and internet favorites for the VMAs red carpet, one of the most unpredictable carpets among Hollywood’s biggest ceremonies.

Snoop Dogg hosts the ceremony, which airs live on CBS , is simulcast on MTV and streams on Paramount+ from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. ET.

The VMAs carpet has always been a stage in its own right. From daring statements to coordinated group arrivals, the famous red carpet has produced some of pop culture’s most talked-about fashion moments. This year it may matter even more. For the first time since 2009, the VMAs appear to have no Pre-Show performances, so the carpet becomes the main event before the telecast begins.

All eyes will be on Madonna . She is this year’s most-nominated artist with 13 nods and opens the show with her first VMAs performance in 23 years. That will make her the first artist to open the VMAs five times. Taylor Swift is also expected to be a major draw as she will likely receive the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors alongside her “Patient Zero” music video premiering during the broadcast.

The night’s performers include Lisa, RAYE, Sienna Spiro, Shaboozey, Gunna, GENER8ION and Yung Lean. There will also be two tributes: Kacey Musgraves will honor Dolly Parton, and RAYE, Sombr and Teddy Swims will honor George Michael.

The presenter lineup mixes music, film and TV. It includes Charli XCX, Tyla, Troye Sivan, Teyana Taylor, Alex Warren, Paris Hilton, Emma Bunton, Orville Peck, Chuck D, David Corenswet and Jeff Probst. Paramount has also promised “surprise guests,” so expect some unannounced arrivals as the night goes on.
