If Sadie Sink secretly being Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Adria Arjona almost certainly secretly being Wonder Woman in Man of Tomorrow weren’t enough for you, we now have a third secret superhero role that’s just been cast. This time, it’s for Avengers: Secret Wars , the Doomsday follow-up that will air in December 2027.

Deadline reports that actor Noah Jupe has been tapped for a secret role in Avengers: Secret Wars . You probably don’t know Jupe by name, but he has been in a number of high-profile productions despite being just 21.

Perhaps most notably, Jupe played the son in the first two A Quiet Place movies. He’s had roles in Ford v Ferrari, The Night Manager, Hamnet and most recently, Hugh Jackman’s The Death of Robin Hood . So, he’s been on quite the track over the years.

So, a secret role, eh? Well, that means nothing to comic book audiences, who guessed Sadie Sink’s role practically from the start, and are probably about to be right about Adria Arjona as well. There are only so many characters these actors can play if we’re talking about parts so high-profile they need to be kept secret.

In Jupe’s case, the near-universal guess is that he is playing an older version of Franklin Richards, the son of Reed and Sue Richards, Mr. Fantastic and The Invisible Woman. We saw him as a young child in Fantastic Four: First Steps , but now in Secret Wars he’d be grown (probably not played as 21, but as a teenager).

Non-comic-readers may not know just how important a character Franklin Richards becomes across many storylines, and how wildly powerful he is. Richards first appeared in 1968, and like many famous heroes, was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. But over the decades, his power and relevance have grown to the point where he has the ability to manipulate reality itself and has psionic powers that even top Omega-level mutants. In one instance, Franklin used his powers to age himself into an adult, which could potentially explain the age difference here, if they go that route.

Franklin Richards has a key role in the Secret Wars comic, where Doctor Doom creates a new Battleworld and changes reality so he’s married to Sue Storm and Franklin is his son. Franklin is so strong that Doom makes Galactus serve him. In the end, Franklin makes an entirely new universe, which resurrects the shattered Marvel multiverse. Yeah, it’s a lot.

The idea is that the Secret Wars movie definitely needs to have Franklin Richards in it, and Noah Jupe both looks like most versions of Richards and now has a “secret” role. It’s possible he’s someone else, the X-Men are being introduced in Secret Wars as well, but this is everyone’s best theory, and those usually prove true.
